Dany Philippe raised from the hijack and Winamax streamer Adrien Dumont called in the cutoff. The flop came 10♦5♠2♠ and Philippe continued for 30,000, which Dumont called.
The turn came the 3♣ and Philippe bet 40,000. Dumont then pushed all in for 148,000, leaving Philippe in the tank rubbing his head with his hands in anguish.
As this was happening, the tournament director announced the official start of hand for hand, meaning there was just one more player to bust. Still, Philippe made the call with the covering stack.
Several other hands were playing out on different tables, adding to the tension as media gathered around to witness the moment. Philippe and Dumont gave each other a respectful fist-pump before the TD came over to call out the hand. Players revealed their cards.
Philippe had J♠J♥, an overpair to the board. Dumont, however, flipped over 10♥10♣ for a flopped set of tens and was in great shape heading to the river. Dumont just needed to fade a jack to double his stack and avoid elimination on the bubble.
The river came the J♣ and onlookers let out an "ohhhhh" as it became clear what had happened. Philippe had rivered a higher set.
Dumont was eliminated on the stone bubble. Cheers rang out as the remaining 112 players made the money.
The wait was long but no bubble was needed to end Day 1a. The 112 remaining players are now in the money and bagging their chips as they qualified for Day 2.

What a way to end a record-breaking day! After 21 levels, the bubble finally burst with 112 players remaining, wrapping up a historic Day 1a of the 2025 Winamax Sismix Main Event, which drew a massive 677 entries — a 20% increase over last year. Among these players, Winamax streamer Adrien Dumont was likely expecting to make the money, but a brutal two-outer on the river ended his tournament right on the bubble.
Far from those concerns, Alexis Geffroy “ran good from the beginning to the end” to become the Day 1a chip leader with 1,123,000 chips. “I had good spots, won 100,000 to 150,000 by opening a wide range with my big stack during the last levels, and also won a huge pot with a full house against another full house,” he explained. The unlucky opponent of that cooler was WSOP bracelet winner Said El-Yosfi, who will be back tomorrow to take another shot.
At the beautiful Es Saadi Resort in Marrakech, Guillaume Colas sits second in chips with just under one million (927,000), while none other than Winamax Team Pro Davidi Kitai takes third place. Quietly and efficiently, he built a strong stack of 826,000 in his pursuit of a second Sismix Main Event title.

The tournament takes place in the Casino of Marrakech, so it is no surprise to see the names of regular players like Rachid El Yaacoubi (673,000), Younes Charrat (585,000), Mohamed El Wely (504,000) or Adrien Sanz (387,000) in the chip counts.
Not far from Winamax streamer Ilan Cukrowicz (569,000), longtime Winamax staff member Aurélien Guiglini also found a bag. After he finished in 20th place of this Sismix Main Event last year, he'll be back on Day 2 with 484,000 after playing against Benjamin Hammann (465,000) or Aurélie Reardtoday.
Reard however failed to reach the end of the day, and so did many players such as her husband Alexandre Reard, the 2024 Winamax Poker Tour winner Jérémy Cauchard, Tahar Said, Guillaume Darcourt, Winamax Team Pros Pierre Calamusa, Bruno Lopes and Romain Lewis or the defending champion Anthony Dasbourg.

A similar profile to Guiglini, but on the black spade side of the force, Julien Liarte bagged 362,000 chips, joining Victor Salinier (373,000), Maxime Parys (365,000), and Mohamed Iche (342,000) among the qualified players. Dylan Patanchon quickly built a big stack today but stopped around the average stack (237,000). 2024 WPO Bratislava Aliosha Staes (199,000) is still in contention, as well as Mike d'Inca (176,000) and Yassine El Ouahdani (176,000) who doubled up during the last hands of the day.
Will Day 1b be as big as Day 1a? In 2024, it was, but the answer will only be know tomorrow with the second out of four flights. Just like Day 1a, play is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. local time with 30-minute levels. The day will conclude once the field reaches the money, which should represent approximately 16.6% of the entries.
