Quintas Scores Huge Double Up

Level 15 : Blinds 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante

Jose Quintas open-raised, Jose Granjo re-raised and Quintas called. Quintas turned his chair around and stared at his opponent as the pot played out.

The flop came 10A3 and Quintas led out for 10,000, prompting Granjo to raise it up to 35,000. Quintas called to see the 4 turn. Quintas then led out again, this time for 25,000 and Granjo called.

On the 7 river, players checked to showdown and Granjo won the pot with AK for a pair of aces.

A couple of hands later, Quintas and Granjo were tangled in another pot. Quintas raised, Granjo reraised, then Quintas moved all in for 145,000. Granjo made the call for what was a huge pot and had the covering stack as players flipped their cards.

Jose Quintas: 44 All in
Jose Granjo: AK

Quintas tutted and stood up as the board ran out J7Q76. He held with his pocket fours and sat back down to rake in a pot worth nearly 300,000. Granjo didn't look impressed as he pushed over his stack.

A Massive 677 Entries on Day 1a; Only 112 Will Make the Money

Level 15 : Blinds 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante
Sismix
Sismix

Late registration closed at the end of the dinner break on Day 1a of the 2025 Sismix Main Event. In 2024, 549 entries were recorded for this first flight of the tournament, but this year that record was shattered with a massive 677 entrants.

For comparison, this Day 1a alone is larger than the total field of the 2014 Sismix, which drew 670 entries. That year, the tournament was won by Winamax Team Pro Davidi Kitai.

At the moment, 200 players remain in Day 1a, but only 112 of them will make it into the money and to Day 2.

Varvat's Kicker Plays at Showdown

Level 15 : Blinds 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante

Following a button raise to 6,000, Guillaume Darcourt called in the small blind, then Jean-Baptiste Varvat three-bet to 25,000. The button folded and Darcourt called.

The flop ran out KA3 and Darcourt checked. Varvat put out a bet of 15,000 and Darcourt called. On the 6 turn, Darcourt checked again and Varvat bet 50,000, which Darcourt called.

The river came the 5 and Darcourt checked for a third time. Varvat decided to check it back to showdown. Darcourt had A10 for a pair of aces, but Varvat showed AQ for a pair of aces with higher kicker to win the pot.
