Following a hijack raise to 12,000, Jeroshan Rex called in the cutoff, then Mustapha Amaouche moved all in from the small blind for 110,000. The original raiser folded and and Rex made the call with the bigger stack. Amaouche was at risk as players flipped their cards.

Amaouche had Rex dominated. The board ran out K♦10♠Q♥A♠4♣ and both players paired up on the flop, then made two pair on the turn. Amaouche had the higher two pair with aces and kings to win the pot, doubling up his stack.

Nebbout Wins Three-Bet Pot at Showdown

Jonathan Nebbout raised to 12,000 from under the gun, Florian Bulliard three-bet to 32,000 from the cutoff, the big blind called and Nebbout also called.

The flop ran out 6♠2♦A♥ and players checked to Bulliard, who made it 36,000 to go. The big blind folded and Nebbout made the call to further inflate the pot.

Action then slowed down as both players checked the 4♣ turn and 6♣ river to take the hand to showdown. Nebbout showed A♣7♣ for a pair of aces, two pair with the sixes on board, which was enough to win him the pot.

[Removed:520] was casually chatting with his tablemates when the players around him suddenly broke into a chorus of “Happy Birthday, Slimane!”

Surprised, he turned around to see his children approaching with a plate of fruit with sparkling candles, celebrating his 59th birthday in style.

"You can take my blindes I don't care," he smiled while kissing his family, but quickly sat down as he was in the small blind on 9♥10♦6♦. The big blind bet 9,000, and [Removed:524] check-called.

Both players checked the 5♥ turn, but on the 8♣ river, [Removed:524] led out for 20,000. "Birthday's luck," he joked as the big blind folded 3♦2♦ face up. [Removed:524] scooped the pot and left the table to thank his family again.

Day 1a Bubble Boy Busts Again as Bubble Approaches

At the end of Day 1a, Adrien Dumont had a terrible time of it when he got his set of tens all in on the turn against his opponent's overpair. Dany Philippe then spiked a higher set on the river to bust Dumont on the stone bubble.

On Day 1c, Dumont found himself all in against with just a dozen or so players left to bust before the money. Atilla raised to 14,000 from middle position and picked up a call before Dumont moved all in for 171,000 from the big blind. Atilla shoved over the top and the other caller folded to leave two players to flip their cards.

The board ran out 6♣5♦7♠3♣2♦ and Atilla held with his pocket queens to win the pot, sending Dumont to the exit. Not quite as brutal as his Day 1a exit, but another close run cut short for Dumont.
