Santos' Two Pair Falls to Rodríguez's Queens
Level 6
: Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
David Santos, the two time CNP Madrid champion in 2024 and 2025, called a bet of 10,000 from Beatriz Rodríguez, who was seated to his immediate left, with both players involved from the blinds.
The board read 2♦9♠4♥9♥ and completed with the 2♠ on the river. Santos quickly checked and Rodríguez checked behind.
Santos tabled 8♦8♣, believing it would be enough, but Rodríguez revealed Q♥Q♣ for queens and nines, giving her the better two pair.
Rodríguez collected a pot worth close to 40,000 chips, moving her stack to just under the 100,000 mark.
