While Romain Lewis was scoring an elimination, Cedric Martin raised to 2,000 from early position and called after Pascal Vinial to his left three-bet to 4,000.
Vinial bet 6,000 on a flop of 2♠A♣7♠, then fired a second barrel to 12,000 on the 3♦ turn. Martin check-called both times.
On the 8♣ river, Martin went into the tank and Vinial bet 20,000 but out of turn. Martin eventually checked and called with A♦Q♣. He made the right call as Vinial only had K♦J♥.

The action was picked up on a board of 9♦9♣J♠8♠K♥. Emir Farhad-Zada in the big blind checked and Marion Bocher in the cutoff bet 30,000, the size of the pot.
After a moment, the dealer thought someone had said “call” and announced it out loud.
Thankfully, neither player revealed their cards, and Farhad-Zada eventually folded, showing the K♠ face up. Bocher revealed Q♥10♦ and scooped the pot.

Cyril Mazet opened to 1,800 from middle position and was called by Vincent Valliccioni to his left in the hijack and by Nicolas Figueiredo in the cutoff.
All three of them checked a flop of 10♥Q♠J♥ leading to the 9♣ turn that Mazet checked.
Valliccioni bet 2,200 and made Figueiredo fold. "2,200?" Mazet asked very seriously. But a smile quickly appeared on his face when he flipped over 6♦4♦. "I tried" he said while folding.

In the 947th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Ben Ludlow are back to discuss headlines from the poker world that didn't include The Lodge in Texas. Foremost among them was celebrity Kylie Jenner, working with Vanity Fair to make a viral poker video. Was it a good thing for poker?
The crew also discusses the upcoming closure of the Resorts World Poker Room and some of their favorite (and worst) memories, Arden Cho at the Academy Awards, and winners from the recently-completed PokerGO Cup, including Andrew "Lucky Chewy" Lichtenberger, Tony Gregg, and Brock Wilson, who ultimately topped the leaderboard. It was also at the PokerGO Cup where Ben Grise notched back-to-back runner-up finishes while learning the tragic news that his good friend back in Indiana had been murdered.
Find out all about those stories and more in this week's episode of the PokerNews Podcast! Oh, and be sure to check out the audio version of the PokerNews Podcast that is available on all major podcasting platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
Level 5 has just started with 1,300 entries, bringing the overall total to over 3,000. After this level, all players will be sent on a 25-minute break.
