Spinella Keeps Firing

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Anthony Spinella opened the button to 90,000 and Mike Dentale defended from the big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Dentale checked. Spinella bet 100,000. Dentale called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Dentale checked again. This time Spinella made it 230,000 to go. Dentale called.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and Dentale checked for a third time. Spinella bet 440,000 and sent Dentale into the tank.

"You really runnin' this hot Anthony?" asked Dentale.

"You just keep firing and firing and firing and you got it every time? If you're getting greedy like I think you are, then I hope you get punished."

"Will you show me if I fold?"

Spinella didn't flinch.

"I'll give you a free show anytime if you show me this one."

Eventually Dentale was on the clock and he gave a little nod of frustration when he squeezed his hand as the seconds ticked down and his hand was mucked.

DJ Alexander Eliminated in 16th Place ($21,935)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
DJ Alexander
DJ Alexander

DJ Alexander opened in the cutoff and Chengce Jiang three-bet to 320,000 in the small blind. Alexander peeled to see a {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. Jiang fired in a bet of 300,000 and Alexander slid in 680,000 after thinking a bit. Jiang said he was all in and Alexander stuck his last 500,000 or so in there.

Alexander: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Jiang: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

The {7-Hearts} gave Alexander a fighting chance to survive the cooler with a monster double if he could find another heart on the end, but it was a harmless {8-Spades}.

According to the players at Table 54, Aaron Massey put in a committing squeeze raise from the small blind and had to put the rest of his stack in with {k-}{q-} when Chris Hooper shoved all in from the big blind with {j-}{j-}. The flip went Hooper's way to end Massey's tournament.

Jiang Picks Off Spinella

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Anthony Spinella bet 180,000 from the big blind on a {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Hearts} board, and Chengce Jiang called from the button. Spinella fired again for 450,000 on the {2-Hearts} river. Jiang called in short order.

Spinella showed {10-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a missed straight and Jiang won it with {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

"Stop it," Spinella said with a smile.

Sellars Doubles Through Gonzales, Who Doubles Right After

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Adam Gonzales shoved early for about 375,000. Dwight Sellars reshipped in the next seat and everyone else folded.

Gonzales: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Sellars: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

"Sumbitch," Gonzales muttered.

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, leaving him dead on the turn.

He shipped it in the next hand first to act for 120,000. Johanssy Joseph called with {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

"I like my odds," Gonzales said, showing {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}.

He liked them a lot more after the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop gave him quads. He doubled right back to only a bit less than he had before.
