Gilliam Gets Value With Nuts

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

There was at least 15,000 in the pot on a board of {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} in a heads up pot between the big blind and Tim Gilliam, who was under the gun.

The big blind had checked to Gilliam and found action back on himself after Gilliam bet 11,000. He thought for about a minute and threw out chips to call.

Gilliam tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} for the nut straight.

"Nice hand," his opponent said as he mucked his hand. The dealer sent Gilliam the pot and he added yet another pot's worth of chips to his stack.

Misclick Costly For Sengphet

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
La Sengphet
La Sengphet

A player in the small blind bet 3,200 on a {j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop, and La Sengphet tossed in a single 5k chip and two 100 chips. The small blind then announced that he was all in, which led Sengphet to say, "That's not enough for a raise."

A floor was called over, and ruled that since the amount Sengphet had put in the pot was more than half of the small blind's original bet, Sengphet would be forced to raise to 6,400, and the small blind again declared that he was all in, for around 34,000.

Sengphet tanked for around two minutes, with a similarly sized stack, before reluctantly letting her hand go.

Ho Fires River

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Maria Ho raised to 1,800 from under the gun and received calls from a player in middle position, Nathan Gamble on the button, and the big blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs} and the big blind checked. Ho made a continuation-bet of 2,700 and was quickly raised to 7,000 by the player in middle position. Gamble and the big blind folded, putting action back on Ho. She put out chips to call.

Both players checked the turn {7-Spades} and the river fell {2-Hearts}. Ho threw out a bet of 8,500 and her opponent thought for a few moments before folding.

Camelo Bets Off Keeline

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

With 12,000 already in the pot and a {4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} board out, Ben Keeline bet 2,300 from under the gun, and Benito Camelo made the call from the hijack.

The {10-Hearts} fell on the river, and Keeline checked. Camelo bet 10,000, and Keeline folded. Camelo showed {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for just ace-high.

Thornton fired 20,500 on the {q-Clubs} river, and Gamble tanked for a minute before folding.

For the past week, WinStar has been playing host to a series of side event as a part of the 2019 Labor Day River Series. While PokerNews is only offering live updates from the Main Event, we still wanted to give some love to the lucky WinStar winners.

One such event was Event #3: $500 Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO), a tournament that drew 122 players.

That meant the top 13 players got paid, and of those the top 11 struck a deal that saw them all lock up at least $4,741 while Kyle Monaco was crowned champ for $5,291.

Missing out on the deal but cashing the tournament were Shane Howeth and Ngoc “Long” Nguyen, who each won $1,098 for finishing in 12th and 13th place respectively.
