Griffith Makes Aces Full

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

A player raised to 3,400 from under the gun and received a call from Byron Griffith, who was on the button. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs} and the original opener fired a continuation-bet for another 3,400. Griffith called.

Both players checked the turn {a-Diamonds} and the river came {4-Spades}. The original raiser bet 6,000. Griffith threw out a raise to 18,000 and his opponent thought for about five seconds before announcing a call.

Griffith tabled {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for a full house, aces full of sevens, and took down the pot as his opponent mucked and wished him a nice hand.

Gilliam's Set Cracks Jacks

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

A player raised to 1,500 from middle position, and was called by Brandon Gilliam in the hijack, as well as the big blind.

The big blind checked a {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop over to the middle position player, who bet 3,000. Both Gilliam and the big blind called.

On the {3-Hearts} turn, the big blind checked again, and the middle position player bet 4,000. Only Gilliam called.

The middle position player checked on the {2-Diamonds} river, and Gilliam quickly tossed out a bet of 15,000, which was most of his opponent's remaining stack. The middle position player called and tabled {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, but Gilliam's {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for sevens-full of threes was good for the big pot.

Ho Wins at Showdown

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Maria Ho opened to 1,400 from early position and was called by the player on her direct left. Action then folded around to Nathan Gamble, who called in the small blind. Schuyler Thornton defended his big blind to take action four ways to a flop of {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

Gamble and Thornton checked to Ho, who made a continuation-bet of 2,500. The player on her left called and Thornton both called, with Gamble folding in between the two.

The turn came {a-Diamonds} and Thornton checked again. Ho fired a second barrel for 5,000. The player on her left called and Thornton got out of their way, bringing the river {9-Diamonds}. Both players checked to showdown.

Ho hesitated for a quick second and her opponent met her with equal or greater trepdiation. She tabled {j-Spades}{10-Hearts} and he quickly mucked, resulting in the pot being sent her way.

Payne Fades a Flush to Double

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Bobby Payne jammed his last 2,600 from the big blind on a {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, and an opponent in the cutoff looked him up.

Bobby Payne: {9-Spades}{4-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Payne's trips were looking to dodge a heart to score a needed double, and the {8-Diamonds} turn and {3-Diamonds} river left Payne with a full house and the pot.

Keeline Bombs the River

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ben Keeline
Ben Keeline

There was around 30,000 in the pot on a board of {9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and action was on a player in middle position after he had bet 8,500 and been reraised all in by Ben Keeline, who was on the button.

"Thirty-five, four," said the dealer as she finished a count of the 35,400 in Keeline's stack.

Keeline sat there without moving while his opponent thought about his decision. After a few moments, the player mucked and Keeline took down the pot.

"Is That All? Just Quads?"

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Tim Gilliam had an opponent all-in and at risk preflop for his last 16,000, and Gilliam was in good shape to score the knockout.

Opponent: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Tim Gilliam: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Gilliam's fortunes went from good to great after a {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop gave Gilliam unbeatable quads, prompting La Sengphet to quip, "Is that all? Just quads?" Gilliam just shrugged with a bemused grin on his face, and the {9-Diamonds} turn and {5-Spades} river completed the board, sending Gilliam's opponent out the door.

Smith Takes a Nice One On River

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

The cutoff opened to 1,700 and received a call from the small blind. Chad Smith was in the big blind and three-bet to 5,400 and both the cutoff and small blind called. The flop came {2-Hearts}{a-Spades}{6-Spades} and the small blind checked. Smith continued with a bet of 5,200, putting action on the cutoff, who thought for about 25 seconds and then folded. The small blind called.

Action was then heads up to the turn {10-Clubs} and the small blind checked. Smith checked back, bringing the river {5-Hearts}. The small blind checked once more and Smith put out a bet of 17,000. After a few moments, the small blind folded and the pot was sent his way.

Hardin's Queens Good For a Knockout

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

A player jammed her last 9,200 in from under the gun, and Ryan Hardin made the call in the small blind.

Opponent: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Ryan Hardin: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Hardin wouldn't get a sweat on a dry {10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} board, and he told his opponent, "Very nice playing with you," before she took her leave from the tournament area.

Tobin Doubles in Dramatic Fashion

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

According to a few players at Table 48, Dave Tobin just found a double in an improbable manner. Tobin had raised to 1,600 before the flop and a player in the blinds meant to three-bet to 4,000. However, the bet came out as a string raise and was ruled to be a call.

The two went to the flop {a-}{k-}{8-} and action went check-check. Tobin's opponent bet 1,500 on the turn {j-} and Tobin called.

The river came {j-} and Tobin's opponent bet another 6,000. He clicked it back, raising to 12,000 and was immediately three-bet all in for his stack. He called just as quickly.

Dave Tobin: {j-}{j-}
Opponent: {a-}{a-}

The table was astonished to see that Tobin's opponent had flopped a set of aces, only to see Tobin turn a set of jacks that became quads on the river, trumping his opponent's aces full to earn the double.
