"I'll Show You, Brother" - Rodriguez Makes Quads

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Hesam Alagha opened to 48,000 from middle position and was called by both Eluterio Rodriguez in the cutoff and Jence Kelling, who was on the button. The flop came {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Alagha made a continuation-bet of 70,000. Rodriguez put out a raise to 150,000, prompting a fold from Kelling. Alagha then called.

The turn was {2-Clubs} and Alagha checked. Rodriguez put out a bet of 275,000 and Alagha thought for a bit before ultimately calling. The river fell {8-Diamonds} and Alagha checked once more.

"Got about 650 behind?" asked Rodriguez.

"That's about right," said Alagha.

Rodriguez cut out a bet of 325,000. Alagha thought for a while more and let his hand go.

"I'll show you, brother," Rodriguez offered. Alagha asked him what he said, almost unsure if he had heard correctly. Rodriguez tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} to show quads and had the massive pot sent his way, bringing him over 2 million and making him now the likely chip leader as the final four tables loom near.

Vo Loses a Flip to Simpson

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Quintis Simpson jammed for 366,000 from middle position, and Viet Vo made the call in the big blind.

Quintis Simpson: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Viet Vo: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Vo added a gutshot to his overcards on the {7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop, but he would improve no further on the {9-Diamonds} turn and {8-Diamonds} river to send the double to Simpson.

Vo Squeezes Some More Chips Into His Stack

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Quan Donot Nguyen saw action folded to him in the cutoff and opened to 44,000. Brandon Gilliam called from the small blind, putting action on Viet Vo in the big blind. He postured for a moment and threw out seven T25,000 chips, three-betting to a total of 175,000.

The dealer announced as much and Nguyen quickly folded. Gilliam followed suit after about three seconds, flashing his hand to Vo for a quick second before sending it to the dealer.

With the pot, Vo looks to have about 1.8 million in his stack and is likely the chip leader at the present moment. Katherine Offutt also happens to be giving chase, as she was seen at an adjacent table having chipped up to a stack of around 1.76 million

Copp Cops Quads To Double

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Keith Copp shoved all in for 210,000 from early position and was called by James Jewell, who was on the button.

Keith Copp: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
James Jewell: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The coin flip situation the two found themselves in didn't stay that way for long as the flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}. It was only up from there for Copp, as the turn came {k-Hearts} to give him kings full. He improved even further when the river {k-Spades} fell, giving him quads and earning him a much-enjoyed double.

Sixkiller Gets a Chop With Gilliam

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Gary Sixkiller bet 75,000 from the small blind on a {7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board, and Brandon Gilliam jammed to put Sixkiller at risk for his last 100,000. Sixkiller tanked for a few minutes before finally committing his remaining chips.

"Might be ahead, I dunno," Gilliam told Sixkiller before they revealed their hands.

Gary Sixkiller: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Brandon Gilliam: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Both players seemed relieved to see that the end result of the hand was a chop, and after the {9-Spades} fell on the river, Sixkiller told Gilliam, "Dang, you scared the crap out of me!"

Alagha Eliminates Defending Champion Pengelly

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Will Pengelly
Will Pengelly

Hesam Alagha opened to 38,000 from early position and saw action fold around to Will Pengelly, who three-bet to 90,000 from the small blind. Alaghathought for about a minute before Pengelly opened his mouth, telling Alaghathat he should either fold or shove; that calling was not an option. Alaghacalled.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Spades} and Pengelly shoved all in for what was counted to be 295,000 into a pot of 212,000. Alaghathought again for about 30 seconds and verbalized a call.

Will Pengelly: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Hesam Alagha: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Alaghahad found his pair of aces firmly ahead of Pengelly's king-jack, needing to fade Pengelly's four Broadway outs or some running combination of kings and/or jacks. The turn came {j-Hearts} to give Pengelly a few more outs, but the river fell {9-Diamonds} and he found his hopes of repeating shattered just like that.

He made sure not to leave without remark, giving his best Phill Hellmuth as he left the table in frustration: "He called me with ace-two, honey!"
