Daryanani Busts Ingles

A series of preflop raises culminated with Jared Ingles calling all in for about 18,000 total with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Unfortunately for the Day 1a bubble boy, Bobby Daryanani had him in bad shape with {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to give Ingles a few extra outs, but neither the {3-Spades} nor the {9-Clubs} river was what he was looking for, ending his Main Event.

Nguyen Gets It In Draw vs. Draw

With the flop reading {J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Andrew Nguyen bet 1,450 only to have his opponent move all in for 7,725 total. Nguyen shuffled the necessary chips to call before finally decided to plop them down in the center of the table.

Nguyen: {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Both players were on draws and Nguyen's opponent got there immediately when the {2-Diamonds} struck the turn and filled his flush draw. The {A-Hearts} fell on the river but Nguyen's wheel was irrelevant. With this loss Nguyen is now down to about 23,000.

Pilgrim Gone

We picked up with the action to see Dwyte Pilgrim heads up in a pot with the flop reading {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Pilgrim continued out with a bet of 2,000 and was called by his opponent.

The {10-Spades} fell on the turn and Pilgrim once again bet 2,000. Pilgrim received a called yet again and the river brought the {Q-Spades}. Pilgrim moved all in for about 3,500 more and his opponent quickly called and showed {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for the nut straight. Pilgrim showed the table that he held {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} before flinging them into the muck and heading out of the Global Event Center for the last time.

During the break, Sarah caught up with Dwyte so check that out.

Small Victory For Nguyen

Action folded around to the button who made it 700 to go. The small blind got out of the way and Huy Nguyen called out of the big blind. The flop fell {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Nguyen checked. The button continued out with 1,000 and Nguyen quickly called.

Both players checked the {9-Spades} turn and did the same on the {5-Clubs} river.

"Ace-high," said the player on the button.

Nguyen showed {J-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights and was able to take down the pot, bringing him to 20,000 in chips.

Minor Stumble for Selbst

A player in early position opened to 575 and Vanessa Selbst three-bet to 1,300 from middle position. Action folded around to the raiser, who called.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Spades} and both checked through to the {4-Clubs} turn. The early-position player check-called 1,600 from Selbst to see the {5-Clubs} river. Both players checked and the early-position player tabled {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. Selbst couldn't beat it and mucked her hand.
