The first of three High Roller events begins today with Event #19: $5,300 8-Max Re-entry with $200,000 guaranteed in the prize pool!
This two-day event is sure to attract some of the best and toughest competitors. Among the players expected to show up to battle is partypoker Team Pro Kristen Bicknell. Canada's very own two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner is eyeing another win and is gunning for her first-ever High Roller title.
Play begins at 1:00 p.m. local time at the ever-popular Playground Poker Club as part of the second-annual World Cup of Cards festival sponsored by partypoker.
Registration will remain open all day with unlimited re-entries and will close before the start of play on Day 2. Blinds will last 45-minutes a piece until heads-up play begins and players will begin with a nice rounded stack worth 100,000 in chips.
Players will duke it out for 10 levels today before bagging to come back for Day 2 tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st at 1:00 p.m. Follow along as the PokerNews brings you all of the action throughout this event!

Danny Boyaci raised to 1,200 from under the gun and got calls from Josue Sauvageau in the cutoff and Gary Lucci on the button. Thomas Cemm was in the big blind and three-bet to 4,700. Boyaci, Sauvageau and Lucci all quickly called.
The flop came and Cemm immediately led out for 17,000. Boyaci called and Sauvageau and Lucci folded.
The turn was the and Cemm led out for 30,000. Boyaci called again. The river was the and Cemm bet 30,000 again. Boyaci sigh-called and Cemm tabled for two pair kings and fours. Boyaci mucked and was left with 17,000.
Boyaci folded for a few hands but eventually busted and headed to the rail.
