Giguere Gets There

Level 33 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante
Joel Giguere
Joel Giguere

Joel Giguere was under the gun with {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} and decided to move all-in for 95 million. Mike Leah was in the cutoff with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and had a decision to make. During this time, Daren Keyes asked how much the all-in was for. Leah politely reminded him he's not allowed to ask if the action is not on him at the time. "If you missed it when it was announced, then too bad" smiled Leah.

Eventually, Leah shoved all-in. Keyes had nine-seven off-suit in the big blind and still asked for counts, but folded soon after.

Giguere saw he was flipping and stood with his rail at the edge of the feature table.

The flop came {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts} and the rail erupted as Giguere paired his jack. The turn was the {k-Diamonds} to give him two pair and the rail yelled "One time!" as the {4-Diamonds} hit the river to lock up the double.

The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Lo Russo checked once more. Leah bet 20 million and after a short time in the tank, Lo Russo called. Leah showed him the bad news and raked in the pot.

Level 33 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante
Mike Leah
Mike Leah

Action folded around to Mike Leah in the small blind and he decided to limp in. Kevin Rivest was in the big blind and decided to check his option.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {5-Diamonds} on the turn. Both players checked again and saw the {j-Spades} fall on the river. Leah checked yet again, as did Rivest.

Leah first tabled the {a-Diamonds} and looked at Rivest, who didn't flinch as he waited for Leah to show another card. Leah then tabled the {j-Clubs} for quads and the entire table erupted. Rivest mucked {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

"You can never be too careful" laughed Leah as he raked in the limped and checked pot.

Kevin Rivest opened to 10 million from the cutoff with {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Sebastien Labbe called with {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} out of the big blind.

Both players checked the {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop and Labbe jammed all-in when the {9-Spades} hit the turn. Rivest snap-called putting Labbe at risk and the {a-Spades} on the river sent Labbe to the rail in sixth place.

Rivest was left with one out but couldn't get there as the {5-Diamonds} hit the river to give Lo Russo the double.
