Lovely Turn for Lavallee

Level 20 : 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante

In a blind-vs-blind hand, with about 1,600,000 in the pot, Chanracy Khun led for 700,000 from the small blind. Jason Lavallee was in the big blind and called.

The turn was the {q-Spades} and Khun thought for a while before opting to check. Lavallee checked back.

The river was the {4-Diamonds} and both players checked. Khun tabled {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights, but Lavallee tabled {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a pair of queens after flopping a flush draw and turning a pair.

Both players have chipped up significantly since starting the day.

Zajmovic Sends One to the Rail

Level 20 : 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante
Ema Zajmovic
Ema Zajmovic

We got to the table as Ema Zajmovic tabled her hand after calling an all-in worth 4,160,000.

Zajmovic tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, up against her opponent's {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Zajmovic remained ahead, but her opponent picked up an opportunity to chop. The turn, however, was the {10-Diamonds} and Zajmovic rapped the table and wished her opponent well as she left him drawing dead to the {a-Hearts} on the river.

Zajmovic was the first female to win a World Poker Tour title earlier this year right here at Playground and looks to clinch yet another title to cap off the summer.

Tessier-Strasbourg Eliminated in a Cooler

Level 19 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

We got to the table as Michael Tessier-Strasbourg was all-in from the small blind and called by Tommy Coulombe in early position. The board read {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} with Tessier-Strasbourg at risk for his last 3,500,000 in chips.

Tessier-Strasbourg tabled {9-Spades}{4-Clubs} for top two pair, but he was drawing fairly thin against Coulombe's {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a set of fours.

The turn was the {q-Clubs} and the river was the {q-Diamonds} to send Tessier-Strasbourg to the rail.

Melowsky Triples Up

Level 19 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

A roar echoed across the room originating from the table with Tony Melowsky, Pierre Paul Paulin, and David Ormsby.

The three players were involved in a three-way all-in pot.

Melowsky: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Ormsby: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Paulin: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Laying in front of them was a {4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} board. Ormsby had flopped a set but Melowsky binked top-set on the turn to triple up.

Phillips Clinches the Chip Lead

Level 19 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Samuel Phillips
Samuel Phillips

Sam Phillips started the day with 6,050,000 and now has more than triple that amount after scooping up a big three-way all-in.

According to Ema Zajmovic, Phillips opened the pot and Mark A flat-called. Brent Wajcman was short-stacked and shoved, prompting Phillips to re-shove. Mark snapped him off and tabled two kings, up against Phillips' ace-queen and Wajcman's ace-ten.

The flop brought three spades, and each of the three players held one. Fortunately for Phillips, he had the ace of spades. The river brought a fourth spade and he doubled through Mark while eliminating Wajcman.

Phillips now sits on just shy of 20 million in chips at the top of the leader board.

Jason Lavallee
Jason Lavallee

Jason 'ConstantColorUp' Lavallee raised to 450,000 from early position and Kevin Schulz three-bet to 1,200,000 from middle position. Action folded back around to Lavallee and he gave his stack a quick count before four-bet shoving all-in for 3,475,000. Schulz basically beat him in the pot for a quick call.

Lavallee tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, up against Schulz's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for a coin flip.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Lavallee held to double-up
