Day 1e of the World Cup of Cards Event #1: NL Hold'em Quantum is complete. Thursday evening's flight attracted another 65 entries to Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, QC. This was the fifth of ten starting flights for the $200,000 guaranteed event.

The unique event features multiple buy-in levels with a different percentage making Day 2 for each. Day 1e had an entry fee of $250 with 10% of the field moving on. There were seven spots up for grabs, each receiving a $400 bonus for qualifying.

Leo Hackenbroch closed the day in the chip lead after busting Willaim Blais on the bubble, scooping a massive pot. Blais moved all-in preflop for 75,900 and was called by Alain Boucher and Hackenbroch. The flop came {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, Boucher lead for 21,000, and Hackenbroch called. The two seen the {6-Spades} fall on the turn and both checked to the {a-Diamonds} on the river. Both checked again and their hands were tabled. Blais sheepishly turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} seeing Boucher's {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, but Hackenbroch was the last to show, revealing {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

In extreme cooler fashion, Blais was eliminated on the bubble, sending the remaining seven players into Day 2. Each received a $400 prize for doing so. Blais had already qualified for Day 2 and would have picked up an additional $1,500 for his forfeited stack.

Joining Hackenbroch into Day 2 are Evagelos Diamantis (221,500), Stuart Taylor (133,400), Paul El-Khouri (116,700), Alain Boucher (75,900), Ryan Garonce (70,800), and Bob T (52,200).

Kin Ho Cracks Aces

An opponent moved all-in preflop and when action folded around to Kin Ho, he made the call.

Ho: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Ho was in deep trouble with a good majority of his stack on the line. The flop came {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} giving Ho a great draw. He wouldn't have to sweat very long as the {q-Diamonds} fell on the turn giving him a straight. The river was the {9-Clubs} and Ho eliminated his opponent.
