Brabin and Ly Battling

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #21: Luke Brabin and Zane Ly saw the {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, and Brabin checked to his opponent. Ly fired a bet of 27,000, but he was met with strong resistance in the form of an all-in shove from Brabin. With around 120,000 behind, Ly went into the tank. Ly eventually gave it up, and Brabin won the pot.

Hand #22: Brabin began this hand with the button. He raised to 16,000 and won the pot.

Hand #23: Stephen Lindeblad had the button, and Daniel Murphy opened with a raise to 28,000 from the hijack seat. Everyone folded, and Murphy won the pot.

Hand #24: Didier Guerin had the button. Murphy raised to 18,000 from under the gun, and Brabin called from the next seat in the hijack position. Ly called out of the big blind, and the three players saw the flop come out {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}. All three checked, and the turn was the {8-Clubs}.

Ly quickly moved all in for 112,000 on fourth street, and Murphy went into the tank, but eventually flicked his cards to the muck. Brabin made a motion that looked like he was going to quickly call, but the World Series of Poker's Jack Effel quickly interjected to make sure nothing happened that influenced the hand. Eventually, Brabin gave it up, and Ly won the pot.

Brian McAllister Eliminated in 7th Place (AU$19,521)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Brian McAllister - 7th Place
Brian McAllister - 7th Place

Hand #17: Didier Guerin began the hand with the button, and he opened to 17,000. Ryan Hong was in the small blind, and three-bet to 46,000. Guerin gave it up, and Hong won the pot.

Hand #18: Hong had the button, and he limped in after play folded to him. Zane Ly called from the small blind, and then Brian McAllister checked out of the big blind to see the flop come down {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Everyone checked, and the {5-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. Ly bet 12,000, McAllister folded, as did Hong, and Ly won the pot.

Hand #19: Ly had the button to start this one. Hong kept up his active ways and opened to 16,000. Daniel Murphy called from the big blind, and the flop came down {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. After Murphy checked, Hong bet 18,000. Murphy folded, and Hong won the pot.

Hand #20: The button was on McAllister to start this hand, and Guerin opened to 17,000 from middle position. Play then moved to the button, and McAllister reraised to 40,000. Guerin moved all, and McAllister quickly called to put himself at risk.

McAllister was all in with the {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and up against Guerin's {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}.

The {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop made things very, very interesting. Although McAllister's two jacks stayed in the lead as the best hand, he had to dodge any ace, king, or club from here on out.

The dealer made quick work of the sweat and landed the {A-Hearts} on the turn to put Guerin in front. The {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river, and McAllister was out the door in seventh place.

Lindeblad Doubles Up Through McAllister

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #14: Luke Brabin had the button, and Brian McAllister opened with a raise to 16,000 from the hijack seat. Daniel Murphy called from the cutoff seat, Brabin called, and then Stephen Lindeblad called from the big blind.

The four players all checked the {7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop to see the {K-Diamonds} land on the turn. Action checked to Brabin, and he bet 34,000. Only McAllister called, and the river was the {8-Clubs}. Both players checked.

Brabin showed {Q-}{J-} to beat McAllister's {5-Spades}{4-Spades}, and he won the pot.

Hand #15: There was a dead button to the right of Lindeblad, and McAllister started the action with an opening raise to 18,000. Lindeblad called from the small blind, and Didier Guerin called from the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and action checked to McAllister. He bet 38,000, Lindeblad called, and then Guerin folded.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, and both players checked to see the {10-Spades} land on the river. Lindeblad checked, and McAllister moved all in. Lindeblad didn't look happy, but made the call for his last 60,000. McAllister shook his head and simply mucked to give Lindeblad and his {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} the double up.

Hand #16: Lindeblad had the button fresh off his double up, and Brabin raised to 16,000 from the cutoff seat to kick things off. In the big blind, Ryan Hong reraised to 43,000, and Brabin folded.

Hand #10: Ryan Hong had the button. Luke Brabin raised preflop and took it down.

Hand #11: Zane Ly began this hand with the button. Stephen Lindeblad raised to 16,000 from middle position, and then Didier Guerin reraised all in from the hijack seat. Everyone, including Lindeblad, folded, giving Guerin the pot.

Hand #12: Brian McAllister was on the button to start this hand. Play folded to Hong in the hijack seat, and he raised to 16,000. Everyone folded.

Hand #13: Daniel Murphy began this hand with the button. Lindeblad opened with a raise to 16,000 from the under-the-gun position, and play folded to Luke Brabin in the small blind. He called, and then Piyush Gupta reraised all in from the big blind for 42,000. Lindeblad snap-called, and then Brabin went into the tank.

After a bit of thought, Brabin reraised all in. Lindeblad gave it up, and the hands were revealed with Brabin's {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} against the at-risk Gupta's {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and Gupta was gone in eighth place.

Hand #5: Luke Brabin began this hand with the button. Zane Ly shoved all in for around 100,000 from middle position, and everyone folded.

Hand #6: Unknown action.

Hand #7: Stephen Lindeblad had the button. McAllister opened with a raise to 23,000 from middle position and won the pot.

Hand #8: Didier Guerin began on the button, and Ryan Hong received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #9: David Profaca started the hand with the button. Play folded to him preflop, and he moved all in for 41,000. Zane Ly called from the big blind with the {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and was ahead of Profaca's {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

The flop was blank for Profaca, as the {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} fell, and then the {A-Spades} on the turn left him drawing dead. The river completed the board with with {2-Spades}, and Profaca was out the door in ninth place.

Kahle Burns Eliminated in 10th Place (AU$9,831)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Kahle Burns - 10th Place
Kahle Burns - 10th Place

Hand #1: Ryan Hong had the button in Seat 3 to start the day. Action folded to him, and he raised to 16,000. Zane Ly reraised all in from the small blind for 120,500. Everyone folded, and Ly won the pot.

Hand #2: Ly began the hand with the button. Action folded to him, and he raised to 17,000 after asking the dealer what the big blind amount was. Both Brian McAllister in the small blind and Daniel Murphy in the big blind made the call, and the flop came down {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. McAllister and Murphy checked, and Ly bet 27,000. McAllister check-raised to 85,000. Murphy folded, and then Ly gave it up.

Hand #3: McAllister had the button to start this one after taking down a nice pot the hand before. Kahle Burns opened from under the gun to 16,000. Murphy called from the small blind, and the flop came down {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{6-Clubs}. After Murphy led for 17,000, Burns called, and the dealer placed the {Q-Hearts} out on the turn.

On the turn, Murphy moved all in, having Burns and his 84,500 in remaining chips covered. Burns tanked for a little bit, and then called it off with the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. His call was good as Murphy had the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for a worse two pair.

The river delivered the {Q-Clubs}, and Murphy slapped his hands together in celebration. Burns shot up out of his chair and grabbed his jacket all in one motion before darting for the exit.

"Good luck, everyone!" Burns shouted back as he made his way out the door.

10 Australians Fighting for One Gold Bracelet

Chip leader Luke Brabin
Chip leader Luke Brabin

Phil Ivey didn't make the trip Down Under. Daniel Negreanu didn't make it to Day 2. Antonio Esfandiari busted in 45th place. We know what you may be thinking — this final table isn't that big of a deal, right? Well, try telling that to the 10 Australian boys left.

What this final table lacks in the form of a big name superstar it certainly makes up for in good, old fashioned poker camaraderie. The final 10 players — all of whom are from Australia — have battled long and hard to make it to Day 3, and now all eyes are on them as nine eliminations stand between one of these players and his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet.

Yesterday's Day 2 started off as a quest to reach the money. From the more than 90 players returning, only 54 of them would walk away with some cash. You wouldn't think it was the day the money bubble burst, though, as things only got more and more cheerful in the room as the day went on. Then deep into the money, the fun really picked up and the players began sharing a great sense of pride amongst with another. Before anyone knew it, all of the internationals had been eliminated and the remaining competitors looked around at each other with grins from ear to ear.

Leading the charge is Luke Brabin, who bagged up 336,000 in chips. Brabin is trailed the closest by Ryan Hong with 308,000, and then it's Brian McAllister with 233,000, Stephen Lindeblad with 218,500, and Didier Guerin with 205,000 all bunched in the middle.

The first gold bracelet of 10 from this festival will be awarded today, and it's still anyone's game. Sure, Brabin has the chip lead, but the swings late on Day 2 proved that anything can happen. While we can't guarantee a time frame for this one or if someone's aces will hold up, we can tell you that it's going to be a blast from start to finish.

The players are excited, we're chomping at the bit to see who the winner is, and the audience has already started at the bar. The cards will be in the air at 12:10 p.m. local time, so be sure to stay tuned right here to PokerNews for all the live updates coming straight to your screen. We'll see you shortly!
