Phil Ward Eliminated in 17th Place (AU$5,779)

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

When we arrived at the table, Phil Ward's {A-}{K-} was just getting mucked against Steven Zhou's {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} on the final board of {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{J-Clubs} board. Zhou had made quad fives, and after inquiry it was made known that Ward check-called the flop, turn, and river. The two were extremely close in chips, but Zhou had Ward slightly out-chipped after the final countdown, and Ward was eliminated.

Peter Longmore Eliminated in 20th Place (AU$4,350)

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Peter Longmore liked his chances on the {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop with the {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and put all of his chips in, but he was drawing stone dead against Michael Tran and his {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for flopped quad eights. The turn was the {3-Hearts}, and the river was the {A-Hearts} to send Longmore to the rail in 20th place.
