Merson Doubles Through Duhamel

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Before the dinner break, Jonathan Duhamel came from behind to double up against Greg Merson, as his pocket deuces got there against Merson's pocket kings. This time, it was Merson who got there against Duhamel in another clash between the two former World Series of Poker Main Event champions.

Action folded to Merson on the button, and the winner of the 2012 WSOP Main Event moved all in for 100,000 even. Duhamel, winner of the 2010 WSOP Main Event, made the call from the big blind with the {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Merson had the {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, and Merson doubled up.

A Doulble for Khouiss

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

A short-stacked Sam Khouiss got his stack of 81,000 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Mohsin Charania, albeit with the best hand.

Khouiss: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Charania: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

Khouiss had the better kicker, and his position improved when the {5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} flop gave him a flush draw. The {9-Hearts} turn gave him two pair, which meant Charania could only chop with a king on the river. That didn't happen thought as the {J-Spades} appeared instead. Ship the double to Khouiss.

Lyndaker Takes One from Hellmuth

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Phil Hellmuth check-called a bet of 15,000 from Richard Lyndaker on the {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop before the two saw the {6-Clubs} land on the turn. After Hellmuth checked a second time, Lyndaker bet 37,000. Hellmuth gave it up, and Lyndaker won the pot.

Roberts Doubles Through Hinrichsen

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The action folded to short stack Brian Roberts and he moved all in from the small blind. Chip leader Andrew Hinrichsen peeked at his cards and then made the call.

Roberts: {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs}
Hinrichsen: {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades}

The door card was the {10-Clubs} but Hinrichsen didn't like the {Q-Spades} and the {J-Spades} on the flop. On the {8-Clubs} turn nothing changed and the {9-Spades} on the river ensured the double up of Roberts for 108,000 chips.

Hellmuth Checks Dark and Folds

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun, Jesse Sylvia raised to 22,000. Phil Hellmuth called from the small blind, and Jonathan Duhamel folded out of the big blind. On the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop, both players checked, and the turn was the {9-Clubs}. Hellmuth bet 20,000, and Sylvia called.

Hellmuth then checked in the dark before the {4-Clubs} hit the river. Sylvia bet 41,000, and Hellmuth folded.

Merson Loses with Kings Again

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Andrew Hinrichsen raised to 21,000 from under the gun and Greg Merson three-bet to 46,000. Jesse Sylvia moved all in for 177,000 from middle position and all players folded to Hinrichsen, who got out of the way as well. Merson quickly tossed in a chip to confirm the call.

Merson: {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}
Sylvia: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

The {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} board was once again a massive blow to the stack of Merson and he was all in for 70,000 chips from under the gun the very next hand. Sylvia asked for a count and made the call whereas all other players folded.

Merson: {A-Clubs} {6-Spades}
Sylvia: {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}

Now it was Merson at risk with the worse hand preflop and he should double up as well as the board ran out {A-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {9-Spades} {9-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}.

Yan Shoves on Winter

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

[Removed:17] raised to 22,000 and Sean Winter defended his big blind to see the flop of {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {7-Hearts}. "MissOracle" continued with a bet of 18,000 after Winter checked to him and got called before firing a second barrel worth [58,000 on the {6-Spades} turn. Winter check-called again and then gave up the {4-Spades} river when Yan moved all in after the check of his opponent.

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
David Steicke
David Steicke

From under the gun, David Steicke raised to 26,000. Action folded over to Andrew Hinrichsen in the cutoff seat, and he reraised to 46,000. Play got back to Steicke, and he made it 76,000. After a minute, Hinrichsen moved all in, and then Steicke went into the tank. Eventually, Steicke made the call to put himself at risk for 231,000 total.

Hinrichsen had the {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}, and Steicke had the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, and Steicke was eliminated as Hinrichsen hit one million in chips.
