Portaro in Good Mood

Level 7

Seven Card Stud

Sam Khouiss reached the final table of the AU$ 1,650 Dealer's Choice event today and came runner-up to Rory Young. If he wants to do better in the AU$ 5,000 version, the Australian has a lot of work ahead. Just now he got involved in a hand against Bruno Portaro and lost a middle sized pot as Portaro spiked a straight flush with {5-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}.

"Look at his face! It was worth it to see Sam's face," Portaro said while scooping the chips with a huge grin on the face.

Esfandiari Crippled

Level 7

Omaha Hi-Lo

Richard Ashby limped in and Antonio Esfandiari raised to 800. Stuart Rutter made it 1,200 and both Ashby and Esfandiari called as Rutter led for 400 on the {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. Both active players called before the {8-Clubs} was checked on the turn.

The river landed the {9-Spades} and Ashby bet out 800 to force two swift folds from Esfandiari and Rutter.

Esfandiari Eliminated

Level 7
Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

Omaha Hi-Lo

Antonio Esfandiari moved all in for his last 275 from under the gun and Jeff Lisandro raised. Stuart Rutter called and the dealer spread a {10-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop with Lisandro betting out.

Rutter called, but when the turn landed the {10-Spades} and Lisandro fired again, the Brit released his hand.

Esfandiari: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Lisandro: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The river landed the {Q-Spades} and Esfandiari headed to the rail.

Pot Limit Omaha

The banter over on table 31 continues with Oliver Gill, Bruno Portaro and Sam Khouiss. They checked through a three-way flop of {3-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {9-Spades} and Khouiss then bet the {10-Spades} turn for 1,000 after it was checked to him. Only Portaro called to see the {J-Spades} on the river. Portaro bet 3,300 and folded the {3-Diamonds} when Khouiss moved all in for another 3,075 on top.

"Only a straight flush buddy," Khouiss shouted towards the other end of the table and smashed {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} on the table with {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} as two other hole cards.

Campbell Doubles Through Madsen

Level 8

Pot-Limit Omaha

With 4,200 in the middle and the flop reading {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades}, Rob Campbell announced a bet of pot from the button before Jeff Madsen check-raised from the small blind. Campbell called off his 7,200 total and the cards were tabled.

Madsen: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Campbell: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The turn and river landed the {Q-Hearts} and {9-Hearts} to see Campbell river two-pair to stay alive with just under 19,000 in chips.
