Not a Good Day to Be a Donker

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Patrick Donker was clinging to a short stack of 6,000 when he got it all in preflop against Shao Liu, the decisive big stack at Table 29.

Donker: {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Liu: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

"Sit down, you got it," Liu said when Donker stood up. Donker was drawing to two live cards, but it did him little good as the board ran out a dry {6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

"Alright guys," Donker offered before taking his leave from the tournament.

King Warne

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Shane Warne
Shane Warne

We arrived at the table following a raising war between Michael Guttman and Shane Warne.

Warne: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Guttman: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Warne was all in for 103,400 in chips and was in big trouble against Guttman’s pocket aces. That was until the dealer spread out the {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} board.

Warne made quad kings on his way to a massive double up that sees him sit behind a stack worth 230,000 in chips. Guttman still has 73,500 in chips.

Pickering Makes the Right Pick

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Until the {5-Spades} {4-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {2-Hearts} turn, there were already 49,000 chips in the pot between Jamie Pickering and Chuck Caris with the latter going all in for 24,600 chips. Pickering took some time, afraid of a possible over pair, before tossing in the chips and making the call.

Caris: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}
Pickering: {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}

The {Q-Clubs} on the river even gave Pickering trips and he jumped from just above average to a decent stack.

"Is That All?"

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A short-stacked Eric Assadourian got his last 13,700 all in preflop and was up against Joh Thompson.

Assadourian: {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Thompson: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

"Is that all?" Assadourian joked when the {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Spades} flop gave Thompson a flush. Assadourian needed running cards to make a full house, but the {6-Spades} turn took away any shot at that happening. The meaningless {3-Spades} was put out on the river for good measure and Assadourian wished the table luck before exiting the tournament.

Gill Gets There to Crack Rubie's Aces

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Oliver Gill
Oliver Gill

Oliver Gill opened with a raise from the button and then called when Brendon Rubie three-bet from the big blind. The {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop saw Rubie bet, Gill shove for roughly 68,000, and Rubie call.

Rubie: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Gill: {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Rubie held the big pocket pair, but Gill was drawing very much alive with middle pair and an open-ended straight draw. Much to Rubie's dismay, the {6-Hearts} turn gave Gill the lead with trip sixes. The {2-Clubs} river wasn't the ace Rubie needed, and he sent a good portion of his chips across the table to a grinning Gill.
