Intro

Jackie Glazier was born in Melbourne, Australia. She started playing poker rather late, however, her newly discovered talent for the game brought her more money than anything she did before. She hit the live tournament circuit in 2008 cashing in a couple of local tournaments. Then in 2010 she traveled to Vegas where she cashed in the World Series of Poker Main Event. With almost one million dollars in live tournament cashes, Glazier is now the most winningest Australian female poker player and one of the Top 20 Australian poker players overall.

Background

Glazier grew up in her hometown of Melbourne. In her teens she was training to become a tennis player, but had to find a part-time job when she turned fourteen in order to pay for extra lessons. When she was 16 Jackie traveled to the United States and lived in a local family there playing tennis and taking part in American tennis tournaments.

Glazier studied science mathematics in University for four years and graduated with a teaching degree. She discovered poker when her husband got invited into a home game by his friend. Jackie wanted to play too, but wasn't allowed so she started learning the game on her own. Eventually she got into her husband's home games and after awhile started crashing them. She then decided to take a shot at the casino games.

World Series of Poker

Glazier scored her first WSOP cash at the 2010 series when she finished in 427th place at the Main Event for $30,000. Then two years later she came back to Vegas and scored the biggest tournament money finish of her career. Glazier fell just short of winning a WSOP bracelet in a $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em event and took home $450,000 after losing the final heads-up play to Greg Ostrander. That same year she cashed in the Main Event as well collecting $38,000 in prize money.
