Mosbock Forces the Fold

Level 1 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

[Removed:502] opened the action with a raise to 8,000, from early position. It then folded to Sam Greenwood in the big blind, who made the call.

The flop came 976 and Greenwood check-called a bet of 14,000 from Mosbock.

After the K on the turn, Greenwood again check-called a bet from Mosbock, this time for 55,000.

The river brought the 3 and Greenwood again checked to Mosbock. After using one time bank, Mosbock fired out 225,000, which sent Greenwood into the tank. After using two time banks, Greenwood eventually mucked his hand to give the pot to Mosbock.

PokerNews got to the table at the river in a heads-up pot between Alex Foxen and Jason Koon.

With the board reading 25Q108, Foxen bet 290,000 as Koon mulled over a decision. "I just have a pair. OK, I have aces," he said as he called.

Foxen showed KJ for a missed straight draw as Koon tabled AA to win the big pot.

Bleznick Wakes Up With Aces to Knock Out Einhorn on First Hand of the Tournament

Level 1 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

Sinan Unlu opened to 7,000 before Jared Bleznick who three-bet to 25,000. Action folded to David Einhorn in the small blind, who four-bet to 77,000. Unlu folded and Bleznick decided to then five-bet to 225,000, before Einhorn six-bet all in for his stack of 1,000,000, and Bleznick snap-called.

Jared Bleznick: AA All in
David Einhorn: AK All in

On the very first hand of the tournament, Einhorn found himself all in and crushed against the pocket aces of Bleznick. The 8K2 flop gave Einhorn a glimmer of hope, as he paired his king and also had a backdoor flush draw. However, the 8 on the turn left him needing just another king to stay alive. Unfortunately for Einhorn, the 7 on the river offered no help, and Bleznick secured the double-up, eliminating Einhorn on hand one.

WSOP Issues Major Rule Change to Electronic Device Use For Paradise Series

Jonathan Tamayo
Jonathan Tamayo

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise series is underway, and poker players attending should be aware of a rule change that will impact the use of electronic devices at the table.

Jonathan Tamayo won the WSOP Main Event for $10 million this past summer in Las Vegas. Controversy surrounded the victory after poker fans noticed his rail, which included poker pros Joe McKeehen and Dominik Nitsche, had a laptop open with apparent real-time assistance (RTA) software visible.

Tamayo would occasionally converse with his rail during the final table, and that led some to question if he had an unfair advantage. But no one has presented any evidence to prove he broke any rules or won the tournament because of an edge gained from his rail. Still, the WSOP did not have a rule in place to prevent potential controversies such as this from arising. They do now, however.

There are a few other additional new rules for the series, including banning electronic devices at the table altogether when a tournament is down to three tables. Players are also not permitted to place their cell phones or any electronic devices on the table or table rail during play.
