Health > Wealth: Texas Mike Questions Stamina After “4-Bet Jam Nuclear Punt” in $100K

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

What is a player to do when they love tournament poker, their mind allows them to compete against the best of the best, but their body doesn’t want to cooperate? That’s a question “Texas” Mike Moncek, who suffers from a heart condition, asked himself Wednesday night after playing in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise Event #7: $100,000 Triton Main Event.

The tournament, which is being live reported by PokerNews, attracted 182 entrants and offered up an $18,200,000 prize pool. On Day 2, a little over 40 players remained when Texas Mike, in his own words, “punted.”

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel moved all in for 1.96 million from the button and Marcelo Aziz called from the big blind.

Erik Seidel: 55 All in
Marcelo Aziz: AK

It was a flip and Seidel was looking to hold to stay alive. The Poker Hall of Famer, who won a bracelet at last year’s WSOP Paradise, made it through the 610Q flop as well as the 2 turn, but the A on the river was a dagger through his heart.

Seidel was eliminated in 161st place for $67,300 while Aziz chipped up to 10.7 million.

Level 19 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Rodrigo Sirichuk shipped all in for his last 1,600,000 in the hijack and Pascal Lefrancois reshoved all in on the button, forcing both of the blinds out.

Rodrigo Sirichuk: QQAll in
Pascal Lefrancois: AK

It was a classic coin flip and the flop of K99 put Lefrancois in the lead with a pair of kings. There was no help for Sirichuk on the 8, 5 runout as he headed to the payout desk.

Lim's Broadway Sends Out Pruneau

Level 20 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Alexandre Pruneau was seen all-in from under the gun for about 3,500,000, and Chinwei Lim had his entire 4,490,000 across the line as well on the button while Roman Hrabec was in the tank with 1,250,000 already committed from the small blind. After some time, Hrabec mucked his hand and both hands were tabled.

Alexandre Pruneau: AJ All in
Chinwei Lim: AK

Pruneau was dominated as he looked for a jack to stay alive. He did indeed hit the jack on the Q106J turn, but it was poor timing as it improved Lim to Broadway. Pruneau was unable to find a king for the chop as the 3 rolled off on the river, sending him out the door.
