2025 WSOP Paradise
Triton Poker CEO Andy Wong rarely sits down for an in-depth chat, but he did with PokerNews during the recent Triton Montenegro festival.
He offered a candid look into how he helped build poker's most prestigious high-stakes tour. From the "million-dollar feel" of their production to the recent launch of the new Triton ONE series, Wong shares the exclusive, entertainment-first philosophy that has turned the brand into a global "lifestyle brand" and a gathering place for the elite.
We're just over five hours into the first day of the 2025 WSOP Paradise festival, and here's the state of play:
Event #1: $2,500 WSOP Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty
Heading into the start of Level 8, the tournament clock shows 409 players remaining from the starting field of 613. Today will see the action play down to 15% in the money (ITM) before ultimately ending with 10% of the field remaining.
At the last break, there were a pair of Canadians atop the chip counts with Ernest Chevrette (237,100) narrowly leading from Quinn Kannekens (213,000).
Other notables still in the field include Upeshka Desilva (175,500), Joe Cada (112,000), Lara Eisenberg (99,300), Martin Zamani (99,000), Shannon Shorr (80,000) and Ryan Riess (48,000).
Event #2: $75,000 Triton Pot-Limit Omaha
The field of super elites is also underway in the first Triton bracelet event of the festival. Currently, 31 players from a field of 49 remain with Jesse Lonis (757,500) leading from Eelis Parssinen (620,500) and Nacho Barbero (601,500).
GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu (427,500) is doing better on his second bullet, with Stephen Chidwick among the latest to join the field.
Late registration is open until the start of Level 11, so plenty more time for entries and re-entries in this one.

On a break in the $2,500 WSOP Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty, 2006 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold spoke to PokerNews.
Gold admitted his Day 1a has been a rollercoaster so far.
"Some very generous players are trying to give me all their chips!" he said. "They keep calling with two outers and hitting. I just keep building it back, only for it to happen again! I'm running terribly, but somehow I'm still on the first bullet."
Despite Triton events underway at neighboring tables, Gold says he's focused on the job at hand in the WSOP Circuit Championship.
"If I was coming for [Triton events] then I would be itching to play them while I'm playing the smaller ones. But the Main Event doesn't start until the 10th, so this is the best event for me for now."
Now on his third visit to WSOP Paradise, Gold says he's looking forward to the $25,000 Super Main Event and hoping for a deep run.
"That's the biggest buy-in event I'm playing here. And with re-entry it can easily end up $75,000. It's a $100,000 trip minimum, depending on how you do!"
