Kassam Shoves the River

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Brandon Steven raised to 7,000 from the cutoff, and Gabriel Andrade made the call on the button. Rehman Kassam came along in the big blind, checking on the 948 flop.

Steven continued for 11,000, with Andrade folding and Kassam calling. Another check from Kassam followed the 8 turn, and Steven fired another bet of 18,000.

Kassam called, and the Q river completed the board. After taking some time, Kassam slid his remaining stack of 67,500 into the middle. That put Steven into the tank, using two time banks before opting to let his hand go.

Hook Up Over a Million

Level 7 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

On a 974 board, two players checked to Charles Hook who bet 7,000. Johan Guilbert called and Ramin Hajiyev check-raised to 25,500.

Hook was the only caller, and the turn was the Q. Hajiyev bet 33,000 and Hook called.

The river was the 3 and Hajiyev used a time extension before betting 121,000, leaving himself a solitary 5,000 chip behind. Hook called promptly and was shown J10 by his opponent. Hook tabled 107 for a pair of sevens and won the pot, leaving Hajiyev short.

Hajiyev would chip up on the next hand, getting it in pre-flop three ways with Guilbert and David Einhorn. Einhorn would push out Guilbert on the 862Q turn, having turned top pair with QJ

Hajiyev was still alive with A9 and rivered his three outer on the A river to stay alive.

Tollerene Takes from Foxen, Haxton Exits

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Mike Watson opened to 7,000 in early position, and Ben Tollerene called in the hijack. Alex Foxen also came along in the cutoff, and the A34 flop produced a trio of checks.

Watson checked again on the K turn, with Tollerene firing out 7,000. Foxen called, while Watson got out of the way. Tollerene slowed down with a check on the K river, and Foxen checked back.

Tollerene showed A8 for two pair, good enough to claim the pot as Foxen mucked.

At the next table over, Isaac Haxton lost the remainder of his stack after running into Jonathan Jaffe's pocket kings.

Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

Jared Bleznick raised to 6,000 from the hijack, and Rehman Kassam replied with a three-bet to 22,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back around to Bleznick, who stuck in the call.

Both players checked the 762 flop, and Bleznick led out for 20,000 on the 8 turn. Kassam called to see the J river, and Bleznick fired again for 45,000.

Kassam did not take long to let his hand go, as Bleznick raked in the pot.
