30,000 starting stack or no, there's always a chance in a no limit Hold'em tournament that a player's first hand can be his last. This was the case on table 18 just now as M. Moataz was noticed stacking 60,000 after a full house vs. bigger full house monster of a first pot. His table will now be eight-handed for a decent spell of time.
The field of household poker names we may have expected today hasn't quite materialised yet, but there's still over an hour to register and the numbers are rising (138 at the moment, 139 if you count the exiter).
It's the second start day of the WPT here at the Aviation Club de France in Paris and the tournament clock is already indicating that the field will be much bigger today. There are 125 players up on the board at this moment, but with play to start in half an hour and a whole level for people to buy in we're expecting this figure to increase to maybe even as high as 170 players.
Included in the field today are Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Alex Kravchenko, Anthony Roux and Stuart Rutter with six levels scheduled for today.
