Quinn Sivage got into a big pot against Fabrice Touil, finally pushing over a bet on a .
"Wow, wow, wow!" said Touil a little worried, "I call."
Touil showed but Sivage had many outs holding . The turn was the and now Sivage could hit a Queen too but the river was another . Touil had Sivage covered and knocked him out in 10th place, nearly six hours after Steven Van Zadelhoff had busted in 11th.
Break and then a single table of nine players, one more exit and then the final on Saturday!
Seeing as the players are often sat waiting for the other table to finish a hand, chat springs up now and then, recently between Theo Jorgensen and Ilan Boujenah at the other table. “Remember what I said,” reminded Boujenah, “Remember I said I would bust you at the final table.”
“Yes.” Pause. “I would box with you. There aren’t many I would but you, I would.”
“Could I have a gun?” requested Boujenah.
“No.”
“Is it true you boxed with Gus Hansen?” asked Touil.
Permashortstack (and satelliter into this event) Nourredine Aittaleb made another threebet all-in, this time over the top of Ilan Boujenah's raise to 35k. His 240k total posed only a brief head-scratch time for Boujenah who folded showing an Ace and Eight kicker. He was treated to a glimpse of the from Aittaleb in return.
The other all-in saw Mickael Guenni shove when it folded to him on the small blind, and Arnaud Mattern really thought about calling tht 140k or so, considering for a minute or so before deciding against it.
The big hand was between (in the main) Per Linde and Jimmy Ostensson. It started out with the latter raising to 38k preflop and getting a call from Linde, Jorgensen and small blind Fabrice Touil.
The flop came anc Ostensson bet 95k when it was checked to him. The only one to call was Linde. Both players checked the turn, but on the river Ostensson bet out 155k. Linde thought for a long time, had Time called on him, and then gave up the hand with a less-than-overjoyed expression.
Having hardly played a hand in the two hours, Nourredine Aïtaleb has suddenly woken up!
He shoved over Antoine Amourette's 35,000 cutoff raise, then made a committing raise from the button on Arnaud Mattern's big blind to win another pot. He couldn't make it three in a row though when he flat-called another Amourette out of position. They both checked the flop but Amourette took it on the turn with a 21,000 bet.
The farthest-progressing hand in the last twenty minutes is one between Arnaud Mattern and and in-position Ilan Boujenah. Mattern had called 35k in the big blind, and they'd both checked the flop. The turn saw a bet out from Mattern of 41k, called by Boujenah. The river also saw him bet out, this time 95k, and after some frowning and moving of cards over and under each other, Boujenah passed face up, but did not receive a reciprocal peek.
Only four more hands were played in the last 15 minutes (on each table, of course: we're still hand for hand), and no biggies. Hardly a showdown, and hardly a progression past the flop, but there have been moments of tension. Like when Antoine Amourette doggedly kept raising to 30k preflop every hand, only to find the others practically taking turns to repop him (including Mickael Guenni moving all in). He passed each time.
On the other table, Fabrice Touil has gotten in the habit of calling Per Linde preflop raises. The first time he was in the blinds and check-folded the flop, but the second time he was on the button. This flop - - was checked, and on the turn Linde checked again and folded quickly when Touil bet the pot.
Mikael Guenni raised preflop to 41,000 and Ilan Boujedah made the call in the big blind.
The flop was and both players checked, Boujedah then fired out 58,000 on the and Guenni called after much deliberation. The river was the and Boujedah then threw out 170,000 fairly quickly, Guenni did not hesitate for too long but gave up his hand.
Guenni drops to 240,000 as a result. Boujedah back at the 1 million mark.
