Salsberg Times Out

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Philipp Gruissem opened to 120,000 on the button, Theo Jorgensen called out of the small blind, and Matt Salsberg defended his big blind with {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. The flop fell {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, Jorgensen checked, Salsberg tossed out 125,000, and Jorgensen called.

The turn was the {3-Hearts}, Jorgensen checked again, and Salsberg checked behind.

The {j-Spades} completed the board, Jorgensen led for 500,000, and Salsberg tanked for over three minutes before the clock was called on him - by who, we don't know. Time expired before he made a decision, and his hand was declared dead.

Gruissem Chipping Up

Theo Jorgensen opened on the button, Philipp Gruissem defended on the big blind, and the flop fell {6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {4-Hearts}, both players checked again, and the {8-Clubs} completed the board. The players checked again, and Gruissem took down the hand with an unknown hand.

Gruissem Doubles Again

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

After losing a sizable pot to Matt Salsberg, Philipp Gruissem moved all in from the small blind holding {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Theo Jorgensen, holding {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}, went deep into the tank, but eventually made the call.

The {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop gave Gruissem a monster draw, and the {q-Spades} on the turn gave him the lead. The {5-Clubs} on the river gave Gruissem a flush for kicks and giggles, and the German doubled again.

Salsberg Takes Monster Off of Jorgensen

Matt Salsberg

Matt Salsberg raised to 140,000 on the button with {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Theo Jorgensen three-bet from the big blind holding {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, and Salsberg called. The flop was {4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Jorgensen led out for 300,000, and Salsberg quickly called.

The turn was the {5-Hearts}, and Jorgensen led again - this time for 750,000. Salsberg sat quietly, riffling his chips, then looked at his stack. He grabbed a handful of T100,000 plaques, added a few blue T25,000 chips, and after more than three minutes in the tank, he called.

The {10-Diamonds} completed the board, and Jorgensen gave up, checking to Salsberg who instantly checked behind.

Salsberg was relieved to see that he had the best hand, and happily raked in the pot.

Jorgensen Bluffs the River

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Philipp Gruissem, holding {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades} check-called a bet from Theo Jorgensen, holding two black fours, with the board reading {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and Gruissem check-called another bet - this one was worth 200,000.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}, counterfeiting Jorgensen, and Gruissem checked a third time. Jorgensen fired one final bet worth 300,000, and Gruissem went into the tank. The German started to call, but then stopped, and re-entered the tank. He eventually folded, and Jorgensen showed him the bluff.
