Doubles on the Bubble

Michael Kwierk doubles
Michael Kwierk doubles

On the first hand of hand-for-hand play, there were two all ins.

On one table, Michael Kwierk open-shoved with {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, and was called by Raphaël Abitbol who had {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and Kwierk doubled.

At another table, there was a massive all in between Joe Serock and Timothy Adams. After a series of preflop raises, about 340,000 was in the middle, and the two were racing.

Adam's {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} held against Serock's {a-Spades}{k-Spades} on the flop ({5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}) and the turn ({9-Diamonds}), but the {k-Diamonds} spiked on the river, doubling Serock.
