Today we played six 90-minute levels and during that time Jackson Genovesi managed to turn his tournament leading 147,500 stack into another tournament leading stack but this one contains an impressive 760,700.
Genovesi now has over 230,000 more chips than anyone else in the tournament and has to be the favorite to go all the way and win the WPT Malta Main Event. Genovesi is playing well but also running well too and that ladies and gentlemen is a dangerous combination.
He had already run his stack up to 420,000 when he managed to extract 20,000 chips from Jonathan Duhamel and then towards the end of the night he was responsible for eliminating Duhamel when he called the former World Series of Poker Main Event champion's six-bet with jacks and beat Duhamel's tens.
Other players to make it through to the penultimate day's play with big stacks include the very dangerous Yoran Kerignard (522,000), Francesco Favia (429,500) and Ilan Boujenah (297,500), the latter having a roller coaster of a day that he helped himself through by playing several tables of heads-up cash games online!
Midway through the day we lost 12-time WSOP champion Phil Hellmuth but we have another major star still in the field in the shape of Tony G. Everyone's favorite Lithuanian ended the day with 117,000.
Play resumes at 13:00 CET on Wednesday and will continue until the final table of six has been reached. The money bubble will burst when the 22nd place finisher is decided so tune in tomorrow to discover who the unfortunate bubble boy or girl is and which six make the final table.
Until then it is goodnight from Malta.
Here are the official end of day chip counts.

We will play four more hands and Day 2 will come to an end.
Jonathan Duhamel has just been eliminated by the seemingly unstoppable Jackson Genovesi.
Duhamel informed us that he had six-bet shoved with and ran into . No ten on the board and Duhamel was eliminated.

Ilan Boujenah has just raised all in on the river with complete air to push [Removed:39] off what was surely the best hand.
The board read and Berendsen had bet 28,000. Boujenah, who was not impressed that his battery ran out on his laptop midway through a cash game hand, raised all in for around 115,000. Berendsen quickly folded and was shown for his troubles!
Kyril Radzivonau has has a real swingy day and is currently nursing a short stack over on Table 3. Just now Sekan Kurnaz opened to 4,800 under the gun and Radzivonau moved all in from the button for 39,300 in total. Kurnaz looked like he was at least considering making the call, but he just couldn't quite pull the trigger.
Dominik Nitsche has been eliminated from WPT Malta after having to endure a tough time at the table. We were alerted to his demise through the medium of Twitter.
DominikNitsche Dominik Nitsche And I'm out. Never got anything going all day ... oh well of to London in the morning. Might jump straight into the #epo
