Genovesi Shows Heart And Commitment

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jackson Genovesi has just shown some heart and commitment by taking on Tony G. Genovesi opened to 2,500 in middle position and then called as Tony G three-bet to 9,000 from the cutoff.

The flop came down {6-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Genovesi initially checked, Tony G fired a 12,000 continuation bet only to see Genovesi check-raise to 27,000. Tony G counted out his stack (88,000) before folding his hand and saying "well done."

Genovesi then offered Tony G to pick a card, he chose the right hand side one, and it was the {10-Clubs}.

Genovesi Running Away With This

Jackson Genovesi is now up to 420,000 and is running away with this tournament right now.

In a hand just now he opened from the hijack to 3,500 and then called when Jonathan Duhamel three-bet to 8,000 on the button. The flop came down {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Genovesi check-called a 8,200 bet. The {4-Diamonds} fell on the turn and both players checked but when the {2-Diamonds} landed on the river, Genovesi bet 8,500 and Duhamel quickly called.

Genovesi showed {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Duhamel mucked.

"Wow you play so bad" Hellmuth Tells Ryynanen

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Phil Hellmuth's mouth continues to give off little gems to his table mates and he has just given Sampo Ryynanen an earful.

Enrico Tau opened to 3,400 from middle position and the action passed around to Hellmuth on the button. He checked his hole cards and three-bet to 9,000 before entering his trademark pose. The small blind passed but Ryynanen four-bet to 24,000. Tau quickly folded but Hellmuth gave his decision some thought.

"These kids just play so crazy. He probably has ace-jack and thinks its good. Wow, they just play so bad."

As he said this Hellmuth folded and showed {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Ryynanen showed Hellmuth a {j-}.

"See! You had ace-jack and just wanted to give me all of your chips. I think I deserve them."

Francesco Favia Flying High

Francesco Favia
Francesco Favia

Francesco Favia is one of the chip leaders here in Malta after eliminating two players in a single hand.

The bright-orange top wearing Italian got his chips into the middle with {Q-Spades}{Q-Spades} versus the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} of Casper Toft and the {A-}{9-} of Latz Hendrik. His queens held and Favia flew towards the top of the counts.

He has just added some more chips after a clash with Ilan Boujenah. The pair checked the turn of a board reading {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} but Boujenah bet the {Q-Diamonds} river to the tune of 9,000. Favia called, showed the {A-Spades} and won another pot.
