Polito Busts Two More

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Laurent Polito
Laurent Polito

We returned to Laurent Polito’s table to see that he was stacking even more chips. Here’s what happened.

There was an open to 8,000 and Polito made the call. Another player shoved for 45,000 holding {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and a player tank-folded {j-}{j-} before the original raiser shoved for 140,000 with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Polito called to put them at risk with his {q-}{q-}.

The queens held and Polito’s amazing day just kept on getting better.

Ouzilou Gets There

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

There was a bet of 9,000 preflop that picked up two callers including Stephan Ouzilou. The flop was {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and a further bet of 9,000 from the preflop aggressor saw Ouzilou call to make it heads-up to the turn card {8-Hearts}.

This time the bet was 21,000 and again Ouzilou made the call. The river cards was the {6-Spades} and both players checked. Ouzilou turned over his {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for his rivered straight and his opponent showed a single {10-Clubs}. Another small pot to Ouzilou.

Polito Smashes 500k Mark To Grab Lead

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

In a hand that was related to us there was an open to 7,000 and Laurent Polito three-bet from the small blind to 15,000. The big blind then moved all in for 45,000 holding what turned out to be {10-}{10-} and the original raiser re-shoved for over 200,000 holding {j-}{j-}. Polito made the call with {a-}{a-} and bust two players in one hand to take the chip lead.

In a hand we just witnessed Polito opened for 7,000 and called a three-bet from a late position player to 15,000. Polito then proceeded to check-call bets down to the river on a final board of {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a 100,000 pot. His opponent turned over {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and lost out to the {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} of Polito.

With a huge tower of chips stacked in front of him it’s hard to give an exact count at the moment but for sure it is approaching 600,000.

No Flip For Zerbib

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Jerome Zerbib opened the action for 11,000 and was faced with a shove. If he called and lost he would be out.

It took a minute or so to make his mind up but in the end he passed and showed his {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. His opponent reciprocated and showed the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

There has been quite a lot of players showing their cards so far today as the game continues to be played in a largely friendly and competitive atmosphere despite the stakes.

Polito Folds A Set

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

When we joined the action the pot was being contested by Gregory Fournier and Laurent Polito. There was a little over 120,000 in the middle and the flop read {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

The last of Fournier’s chips were in the middle and if Polito wanted to call it would cost him 77,000. Polito was agonising over his decision and it took him a couple minutes to fold to the aggression. When he did so he showed the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} which brought a lot of discussion from the table that basically consisted of, “Two pair.”

Fournier showed the table his {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} drawing hand and the debate continued.
