Polito Chasing WPT National Title Number Three

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Play is set to continue until 5 a.m. again here tonight with the Day 2b players chasing runaway chip leader Laurent Polito, who bagged up 806,000 in chips on Day 2a. That makes Polito the clear favorite going forward, but while he may feel good right now, there's still a lot of poker to be played.

Once play has concluded for Day 2b, a short recap and end-of-day chips counts will be posted before action resumes on the penultimate day, Day 3.

The prize pool and payout information has been announced for this event, and the top 81 finishers will receive a payout. The top prize will see one fortunate player earn €140,000 and the title of World Poker Tour National Paris champion.

The money bubble will be reached tomorrow, on Day 3, when the card will be in the air at 4 p.m. local time.

In the meantime, don't be shy to check out our continuing coverage of WPT National Prague, which you can find by clicking here.

Limped Pot Explodes

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A limp from under the gun from Alain Bauer led to seven players seeing a flop of {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. That was then checked around to Mohamed Aissani who bet 5,000 and got three callers.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and that’s when the fireworks happened. El Mostafa Ederoua led out for 7,700 from the small blind and faced a raise to 18,000 from Bauer. Aissani made the call but then moved all in. Bauer moved all in too and a slightly stunned Aissani looked on in disbelief and slammed his {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} face up to fold.

Ederoua tabled {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} but was in bad shape against the {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} of Bauer. The river {5-Hearts} was good enough for Bauer to score a big pot.

Oh No Onnardot

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Benjamin Onnardot was one of the shorter stacks in the room with just 9,700 and he got it in with a pair {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Jeroen Vaneenoo looked him up with {a-Spades}{7-Spades}.

A final board of {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} meant the flip was lost for Onnardot and he was out.

Benadiba Busts Oros

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Marinel Oros started the day pretty short with 17,300 and he has just been eliminated. We got to the table to see him putting on his coat and his chips being pushed to Stephane Benadiba who had {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} in front of him and a final board of {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Disappointment for Oros but a timely boost for Benadiba
