Eminoglu Takes Tough beat

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Yucel Eminoglu
Yucel Eminoglu

"If you have aces then good luck to you..." said Yucel Eminoglu and he threw a chip in.

With the board reading {6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, Eminoglu had check-raised Najib Kamand's flop bet only for the latter to move all in. Eminoglu made the call.

Eminoglu: {A-Spades}{7-Spades}
Kamand: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

"Come on baby, one time! One time!" shouted Eminoglu.

The {9-Diamonds} changed nothing but the {K-Spades} on the river was met with a few expletives from the man affectionately known as "Mad Turk". Kamand had his opponent covered and won a big pot.

Chatt-Away

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

William Chattaway raised to 12,000 in the small blind from a stack of about 75,000 before Alan Stearn made it 30,000 in the big blind. Chattaway called to see a {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop where he moved all in. Stearn quickly called.

Chattaway: {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Stearn: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The {2-Clubs} turn and {7-Clubs} river changed nothing and Chattaway hurdled over the rail to get out of the tournament area as quickly as he could.

According to the tournament director, the plan today is to now play five levels or until there are 16 players left. There will be no dinner break.

MacIntyre Wins Battle of the Blinds

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Patryk Slusarek raised to 17,000 in the small blind before Fraser Macintyre made it 32,000 in the big blind. Slusarek check-called a bet of 32,000 on the {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop before both players checked the {7-Hearts} turn.

Slusarek also checked the {5-Clubs} river and Macintyre bet 58,000, the Polish player gave it some thought but eventually elected to give up his hand instead.

Peters Busts on the Break

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
David Peters
David Peters

David Peters opened to 11,000 in early position and Antoine Saout made it 28,000 in middle position. Peters called to see a {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{J-Diamonds} flop and check-called a bet of 35,000 from the Frenchman.

Both players checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and Peters fired 56,000 on the {8-Diamonds} river. Saout moved all in and Peters tanked well into the break before making the call.

Saout showed {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} for a rivered straight and a disgusted Peters threw his {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} straight into the muck face up and left the table.
