Flushy Board Gets Duhamel Out

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The action opened with a raise to 525 preflop and no less than five players called, including Jonathan Duhamel and Cate Hall. The dealer spread {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} on the table.

Duhamel was the first to put money in postflop. He bet 1,600 and only one opponent was interested in continuing, and he raised to 3,500. Duhamel called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Duhamel checked. His opponent bet 8,000 and Duhamel thought for a few moments before reluctantly folding.

Hall is a new addition to the field here today, as is Darryll Fish. Eric Afriat is here for another shot too.

Don't Get Greedy

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Eric Afriat was in a tough decision after he bet 1,500 on the river and was faced with a raise to 5,100. The board was reading {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and he took a minute deciding his action.

Ultimately, Afriat folded his hand, but then he and his opponent began discussing the merits of the river raise.

"It was for value," his opponent explained. "I think there are a few worse hands that call, but I wanted to see if you'd shove."

"Why not just call? You can't be greedy in this game," Afriat advised. "That's when bad things happen."

Multiway Flop for Ladouceur

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

A preflop raise to 400 saw five players go to a flop of {3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, including Marc-Andre Ladouceur.

Ladouceur was the bettor on the flop, making it 700, and two opponents came along. The turn came {j-Spades} and all three players checked. The dealer flipped over {2-Hearts} for the river and Ladouceur bet 2,000, getting a call from one opponent.

Ladouceur turned over {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and his opponent smirked, sliding his cards in the muck.

St.Onge Calls Off

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Action folded around to Lu Zhang on the button and she raised to 425. Patrick St.Onge in the small blind and Kayvan Payman in the big blind made the call.

The dealer flopped {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and all three players checked. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and it was checked through again. The river of {8-Diamonds} checked through the blinds, but Zhang made a small bet of 450.

St.Onge thought for just a couple of seconds before calling, but Payman folded. St.Onge showed {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for the second-worst possible flush, but it was good enough to win the pot as Zhang slid her cards forward face down.
