Soulier Takes One Without Showdown

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Fabrice Soulier just paid 1,000 to see a flop of {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}, together with three other players, and the Frenchman lead out for 1,400. Two players made the call, including Sebastian Pauli, and on the turn the {K-Hearts} hit.

All players checked on the turn, and the river was the {9-Spades}. Soulier bet 2,800 and all his opponents folded, boosting the WSOP bracelet winner's stack to 64,000. Pauli was left with 10,000, and he's among the shortest stacks.

Loosli Bullies Black

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

A player raised to 800 and Sylvain Loosli called from the button after which Taylor Black three-bet from the small blind to 2,800. The initial raiser folded, and Loosli thought for a while before making the call.

The flop brought out {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Black continued for 2,100 after which Loosli quickly raised to 6,700. Black gave it some thought before folding, leaving himself with 17,000 chips.

Short Day for Katchalov

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Eugene Katchalov couldn't get anything going, and we asked Sylvain Loosli what happened to Ukrainian pro who was seated at his table not too long ago.

"He just lost a whole bunch of pots," Loosli said, "And he got his last nine big blinds into the pot with tens."

Loosli continued, "He got called by eights, and there was an eight on the flop."

Katchalov hit the rail, but he will have the option to re-enter today or tomorrow.

Buaumann Doesn't Hold Back

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Our WPT colleagues just caught Gaelle Baumann doubling up after she entered the tournament late, and here's how the action went.

Baumann raised before the flop to 300 and after a player three-bet, another made it 1,900 to go. Baumann came back over the top for 5,400 and only one player called, creating a heads-up pot on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Baumann bet 4,900 on the flop and after a long period of tanking, her opponent moved all in for about 20,000 chips. Baumann made the call showing {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and she was up against {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

Baumann needed help, and the turn did just that as the {8-Diamonds} popped up. The river brought the {8-Spades} and Baumann secured an early double up.

Afansyev Knocks One Out

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

After unknown action we just spotted a big pot, which was pushed to Anton Afansayev. The board showed {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts} as Afansayev had {A-Spades}{10-Spades} in front of him, against the {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} of his opponent. Afansayev now sits on around 55,000 chips and that's quite comfortable right now.

Ivarsson Clashes with Wang

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Our WPT colleague just spotted a very interesting pot, and the action went as following.

Alexander Ivarsson just clashed in a big pot with Michael Wang, and the former now sits on a huge stack. With a board showing {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and a pot of 14,000, Wang raised Ivarsson's bet to 8,000 after which the Swede moved all in.

Wang went into the tank for a long time, with 30,600 on the line, and eventually he folded his cards.

"Did you show?" Ivarsson asked, as he chipped up to 85,200.

"I only showed myself," Wang replied, "It was very pretty, and I had a heart."
