Yucel "Mad Turk" Eminoglu is up to 45,000 and seems in a great mood judging by him laughing and joking at his table and telling gambling stories. He took a break from laughing to actually play a hand.
With the flop reading , Eminoglu checked from the small blind, Shaun Johnston checked in the big blind and Dale Garrad bet 1,200 in late position. Both of Garrad's opponents called, before the trio checked the turn. On the river, Eminoglu bet 2,100 and only Johnston called, turning over as he did so and winning the pot.
"What do you mean there isn't another card to come?" joked Eminoglu as the pot was slid to Johnston.
Before finding this hand, we saw Enzo Del Piero with a huge stack of 115,000 chips in front of him and he appears to be the chip leader right now.
Fraser McIntyre opened to 350 from under the gun, Alex Lindop called in the next seat, Pablo Gordillo squeezed to 1,500 and then Andrew Bond called from the big blind.
McIntyre, not done with the hand, four-bet to 5,200, Lindop folded, Gordillo thought after much deliberation and Bond came along for the ride.
A flop saw the action check to Gordillo and he bet 10,025. Bond folded, but MacIntyre moved all-in only to be snap-called by Gordillo.
Gordillo showed and McIntyre . Gordillo caught his flush on the turn and would have hit it on the river anyway.
“Nice hand,” says McIntyre, “I’m not sure how you get it all-in with ace-five but nice hand.”
David Quince, who last week lost a heads-up match against Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong for $25,000, raised to 400 from under the gun and after two players folded, Chris Gordon three-bet to 1,200. Almost immediately after Gordon's bet, Steve Morris four-bet all-in for 5,750. Quince folded but Gordon sat trying to work out if he could call. Eventually, he decided he could not and he mucked his hand.
Ludovic Geilich raised to 550 from early position, three players folded and it was Lee Taylor's turn to act. He three-bet to 1,200 and Geilich quickly folded.
The next hand, Geilich opened to 550 again, this time from under the gun, and Sergio Aido called from the big blind. Aido checked to his Scottish opponent on an flop. Geilich rarely needs a reason to make a bet and an ace-high flop was a solid enough reason to invest 700 into the pot. Aido folded and Geilich won the small pot.
Leon Campbell was in middle position and raised to 400. Matas Cimbolas, the reigning WPT UK Main Event champion, called in the small blind. The next seat along was where Jiushuang Wang was sat and he squeezed to 2,000. Campbell folded and Cimbolas released his hand, too.
