"He Could've Been Dead"

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

On a flop of {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} Fedor Holz had 3,900 in front of him seated under the gun, and Jan Ramik on the button had raised to 8,000. Holz made the call.

Both players checked the {9-Diamonds} on the turn and the {10-Diamonds} popped up on the river. Holz checked again, and Ramik did the same after some thinking.

Holz showed {K-}{10-} for a rivered pair of tens. Ramik tabled {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the flopped open ended straight flush draw with a pair, and a rivered straight.

"What is he doing with king ten" laughed Marko Busic who wasn't involved in the hand. "He could've been dead" he said to his neighbor in the one seat. He then mumbled something like "he'll donk it of". Holz just sat there silently, not reacting to the comments in any way.

Holz Calls With King High

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

On a board of {2-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades} Fedor Holz checked from the cutoff to David Abramov on the button. The man from Austria bet 10,125 and Holz tanked for several minutes before calling.

Abramov showed just {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Holz had (again) {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Holz was good with his king-high and Marko Busic again commented how big a donk Holz was, though we're not sure how serious Busic was with that comment.

"I'm afraid of this guy!" laughed Ivan Stefanovic with a serious overtone.

The next hand Holz would tangle with Busic.

Holz opened to 1,100 from the hijack and Busic flatted on the button. The big blind came along as well and the three of them saw a flop of {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. The big blind checked and Holz did the same. Busic checked behind.

The {J-Clubs} fell on the turn and the big blind checked for the second time. Holz now bet 3,500 and Busic instantly raised to 8,000. The big blind folded, Holz made the call.

The {5-Spades} on the river made both players check. Holz showed {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Busic quietly mucked.

Boyaciyan Wins a Small One

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

In The Netherlands there's a saying "Wie 't kleine niet eert, is 't grote niet weerd", or like they say in English; "He that can not keep a penny shall never have many". This for sure goes for David Boyaciyan who's keen on small pots, and just won another one.

Pascal Hartmann opened to 1,100 from middle position and Boyaciyan in the big blind was the only caller. Boyaciyan and Hartmann checked both the {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and {3-Hearts} turn. The river came the {10-Diamonds} and Boyaciyan bet out 1,600. Hartmann made the call by tossing in a single 100 chip, but would soon have to add the other 1,500 as Boyaciyan showed {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Hartmann mucked.

Vladimir Troyanovskiy Eliminated

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Russian high roller Vladimir Troyanovskiy has been eliminated from the tournament.

We're not entirely sure what happened but he got it in with {4-Spades}{5-Spades} in the cutoff and was up against the {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} of Ivan Stefanovic in the small blind.

By the time we arrived the entire board was already out: {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Troyanovskiy got up and made his way to the exit.

Jedlicka Busts Barbarez

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Sergej Barbarez
Sergej Barbarez

We hadn't noticed Austrian high roller Niki Jedlicka yet, but now he's on our radar for sure as he just busted two players in the same hand.

Sowa Gereon was all in before the flop for just a couple of big blinds and received calls from Sergej Barbarez and Niki Jedlicka.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and now Barbarez shoved all in for 16,000 according to one of our esteemed colleagues. Jedlicka made the call and it was time for all three of them to open up their cards.

Sowa Gereon: {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Sergej Barbarez: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Niki Jedlicka: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The {A-Spades} on the turn filled up Jedlicka's straight and the {8-Diamonds} on the river was a blank. Welcome to the tournament mister Jedlicka!

Holz Silences Busic

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Fedor Holz opened to 1,300 from the cutoff and Marko Busic on the button made the call. Ivan Stefanovic in the big blind made the call as well.

All three of them checked the {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop and {5-Diamonds} turn, and the {10-Clubs} completed the board. Stefanovic checked again and Holz bet out 2,200. Busic instantly called, Stefanovic folded. Holz quickly showed {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Busic silently mucked.

Butzhammer Runs Into a Pretty Big Hand

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

On a board of {3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} Thomas Butzhammer bet out 5,500. His opponent, with an obscured id card so we have no idea who it was, raised to 11,000.

Butzhammer wasn't too happy about it, but eventually called by tossing in a 5,000 chip. He was shown {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for top set and Butzhammer mucked.
