A total of 113 players are still in the running of the 206 entries that were made across the two starting days. That number will increase just slightly as there are at least three last-chance satellite winners to enter, and registration is still open till play starts at 2 p.m. local time.
Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz is the alpha dog leading the canine right now, he amassed over 180,000 in chips on Day 1a. Right on his heels is Zoltan Szabo from Hungary with 177,800.
Austrian's all-time money leader Josef Klinger is in third with 166,300 in chips. Klinger hasn't made a live cash since 2010, but he's in an excellent position here in Vienna to change that.
The money stage of the tournament won't be reached today most likely, that is saved for tomorrows Day 3. Today will see five levels played, each 90 minutes long.
Level | Small Blind | Big Blind | Ante |
---|---|---|---|
9 | 400 | 800 | 100 |
10 | 500 | 1,000 | 100 |
11 | 600 | 1,200 | 200 |
12 | 800 | 1,600 | 200 |
13 | 1,000 | 2,000 | 300 |
Play should be done around 11 p.m. tonight, just in time for the players to flock to the Player Party that starts at 11:30. PokerNews will be your one stop shop for all updates and photos you can ask for today. Sit tight, play starts in an hour!
Level: 9
Blinds: 400/800
Ante: 100
The total amount of players now stands at 220. 127 remain at the moment. We'll receive the names of those 14 new players soon. Registration is now closed, and the organization is busy confirming the pay out.

Ana Marquez walked into the press room, not a good sign as she started the day with only 28 big blinds. She soon confirmed our suspicion: busto.
Marquez told us she had three bet for a second time, this time she did it against Stefan Jedlicka. Jedlicka four bet all in and Marquez called it off. Marquez had king-queen off suit, Jedlicka had ace-queen and that hand held up.

Josef Klinger is the all time money leader of Austria with $1,759,013 in cashes. Right on his heels is Thomas Muehloecker with $1,747,400. As Klinger didn't report a cash since 2010, and Muehloecker has been on a tear lately, one might have suspected the latter would surpass Klinger pretty soon.
Just now things turned around though. Josef Klinger is still in the tournament with a lot of chips, while Muehloecker has been eliminated.
Muehloecker opened with a raise to 1,800 from middle position and action folded to big stack Rumen Nanec who made it 5,600 to go. Muehloecker tanked for a bit before shoving all in for 24,000. Nanev snapped him of.
Muehloecker:
Nanev:
The board ran out and Muehloecker made his way to the exit.
