Luca Loses Lots, Boyaciyan Bills Big

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
David Boyaciyan
David Boyaciyan

David Boyaciyan opened under the gun for 4,800 and received calls from Ivan Luca (cutoff), Ivan Stefanovic (button) and Nikolaus Teichert (big blind).

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Teichert checked to Boyaciyan. The initial raiser made a 12,700 continuation bet and just Luca made the call, Stefanovic and Teichert both folded.

Boyaciyan didn't back down on the {Q-Hearts} turn and fired 18,800 in the pot. Luca wasn't ready to say goodbye to his hand either and made the call.

The river came the {9-Spades} and Boyaciyan checked. Luca played with his chips a little, cut some chips aside, and slid two big towers forward, totaling 52,500. Boyaciyan asked how much it was, and called.

Luca confidently showed {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, but Boyaciyan tabled the {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for the flopped straight and won the sizable pot.

No Points for Luca

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Ivan Luca
Ivan Luca

Ivan Luca has been eliminated from the tournament. He lost most of his chips to David Boyaciyan earlier today, and only had about 30,000 left according to our German colleague when he got it in before the flop with {K-}{J-} just now.

Tibor Nagygyorgy would serve as his executioner, making the call with {A-}{4-} and hitting an ace on the turn: {J-}{3-}{9-}{A-}{5-}.

Luca won't score any points for the Global Poker Index Player of the Year 2015 race, so he remains in third place for now. Next week another chance, as he'll probably make his way to the EPT in Malta.

Klinger Busts Koren

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Artur Koren (left) on Day 2
Artur Koren (left) on Day 2

Fedor Holz opened the cutoff for 6,000 and his next door neighbor Artur Koren on the button shoved all in. We couldn't quite see how much it exactly was, but we believe it was about 70,000.

Small blind Josef Klinger didn't ask for a count, but announced call rather quickly, for most of his stack. The big blind and Holz folded and it was time to open the cards.

Koren: {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Klinger: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}

Koren would flop some outs with {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and asked for a club on the turn to make things interesting. He got what he asked for, the {5-Clubs} even gave him some more outs on top of his flush draw.

The {K-Spades} on the river was none of the cards he could hit to double up though, and Koren hit the rail.

Arberd Lalicic Eliminated in 29th Place

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Arberd Lalicic
Arberd Lalicic

Josef Klinger opened from middle position and action folded quickly to Arberd Lalicic in the big blind. Lalicic shoved all in for 120,000 exactly and the decision was back on Klinger.

Austria's all time money leader asked for a count, stared at his stack, cut out 120,000, and said "Ok" before shoving the 120,000 in after about half a minute of thinking.

Arberd Lalicic: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Josef Klinger: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Lalicic was in trouble and wouldn't catch up: {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Just like that, the tournament is down to 28 players and on the bubble. One more player will go empty handed, the other 28 take home a minimum of €5,480.

Klinger Bluffs Big on the Bubble

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Josef Klinger
Josef Klinger

Frederik Jensen opened for 8,500 from middle position and Fedor Holz made the call in the cutoff. Small blind Josef Klinger squeezed to 26,000 and just Jensen made the call, Holz folded.

Klinger bet 30,000 on {Q-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Jensen made the call. Both players checked the {J-Clubs} on the turn, and the {9-Clubs} completed the board.

Klinger thought for a bit, before sliding 130,000 in chips forward. Jensen asked for a count, pondered for a bit and eventually released his hand into the muck.

"Show the bluff!" shouted Jens Lakemeier who had gotten up from a different table to see what was going on. Klinger smashed {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} on the table and the rail erupted in laughter. "I knew it!" laughed Lakemeier.

Jensen had a small grin on his face and played a bit with his remaining 200,000 in chips.

Stefan Jedlicka Eliminated in 27th Place (€5,480)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Stefan Jedlicka
Stefan Jedlicka

Action folded to Stefan Jedlicka in the small blind and the Austrian shoved all in for just over 70,000. Big blind Jan-Eric Schwippert asked for a count, and called rather quickly.

Jan-Eric Schwippert: {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Stefan Jedlicka: {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The flop ({10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}) and turn ({Q-Hearts}) were safe for Jedlicka, but the {J-Diamonds} on the river spelled doom for him. Schwippert rivered a straight and Jedlicka was the first to hit the pay out desk this tournament.

Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

Dimitar Danchev has been eliminated from the tournament. The former PCA winner from Bulgaria shoved allin from the button holding {Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. Peter Jaksland in the big blind woke up with {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and made the call.

The flop came {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades} giving Jaksland two pair and Danchev a gutshot. The {9-Hearts} on the turn and {K-Spades} were effectively blanks and Danchev hit the rail in 27th place.

Viktor Katzenberger Eliminated in 25th Place (€5,480)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Viktor Katzenberger
Viktor Katzenberger

Fedor Holz opened the hand with a raise to 11,500 from the hijack. Action folded to Viktor Katzenberger in the big blind who made it 35,000 to go.

That was just the start of the raising war as Holz four bet (67,000) and Katzenberger five bet all in for about 230,000. Hols wasted no time calling.

Viktor Katzenberger: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Fedor Holz: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Katzenberger hit the rail in 25th place. Fedor Holz once again the overwhelming chipleader.
