Koren All In

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Artur Koren opened to 5,500 under the gun plus one with just 24,000 behind. Action folded to Frederik Jensen in the small blind who thought for a bit before three betting to 17,000.

Konstantinos Nanos in the big blind now shoved all in, Koren instantly called, and Jensen folded with a slight sigh.

Konstantinos Nanos: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Artur Koren: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

Koren had the edge before the flop, but Nanos had a freeroll after the flop: {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

The {3-Spades} on the turn was a blank though, and Nanos and Koren got their chips back.

The {10-Hearts} fell on the river, and Jensen said that card would have won him the pot. The dealer started dividing his chips though, and Nanos and Koren both got their equal share.

No Points for Luca

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Ivan Luca
Ivan Luca

Ivan Luca has been eliminated from the tournament. He lost most of his chips to David Boyaciyan earlier today, and only had about 30,000 left according to our German colleague when he got it in before the flop with {K-}{J-} just now.

Tibor Nagygyorgy would serve as his executioner, making the call with {A-}{4-} and hitting an ace on the turn: {J-}{3-}{9-}{A-}{5-}.

Luca won't score any points for the Global Poker Index Player of the Year 2015 race, so he remains in third place for now. Next week another chance, as he'll probably make his way to the EPT in Malta.

Nagygyorgy Pays Off Urbanovich

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Tibor Nagygyorgy opened to 5,100 from the hijack and Dzmitry Urbanovich on the button made the call. Gaelle Baumann in the big blind made the call as well.

{7-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Baumann checked to Nagygyorgy who bet 7,700. Urbanovich called, Baumann folded.

Both players checked the {3-Clubs} on the turn and the {7-Clubs} hit the river. Nagygyorgy checked, and called Urbanovich's 16,200 bet after some tanking. Urbanovich showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Nagygyorgy quietly mucked.

Loeser Loses It All

Manig Loeser

After an 8,000 open, Peter Jaksland three bet to 15,500 from the hijack. Manig Loeser in the cutoff cold four bet all in for just about 50,000 and action folded rather quickly to Jaksland. The Dane instantly called.

Loeser: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Jaksland: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The {K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop spelled doom for Loeser, and he wished the other players good luck after the {7-Spades} on the turn left him drawing dead. The {Q-Hearts} on the river was there just to make things official and Loeser was headed for the exit.

Freund Busts Gulas

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

On a flop of {J-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} we witnessed Josef Gulas bet out 15,000 from the small blind. Action was on Andreas Freund who made it 39,000 from the cutoff. Gulas made the call after some thinking with about a 100,000 behind.

The {10-Spades} fell on the turn and Gulas checked to Freund. The Austrian player, who's brother played the Main Event as well, shoved all in and Gulas instantly called.

Freund: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Gulas: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Gulas needed the board to pair, but it wouldn't: {3-Diamonds}. Gulas got up from the table, mumbled some words of despair, and headed for the exit.

Klinger Busts Koren

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Artur Koren (left) on Day 2
Artur Koren (left) on Day 2

Fedor Holz opened the cutoff for 6,000 and his next door neighbor Artur Koren on the button shoved all in. We couldn't quite see how much it exactly was, but we believe it was about 70,000.

Small blind Josef Klinger didn't ask for a count, but announced call rather quickly, for most of his stack. The big blind and Holz folded and it was time to open the cards.

Koren: {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Klinger: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}

Koren would flop some outs with {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and asked for a club on the turn to make things interesting. He got what he asked for, the {5-Clubs} even gave him some more outs on top of his flush draw.

The {K-Spades} on the river was none of the cards he could hit to double up though, and Koren hit the rail.

Nagygyorgy Doubles Koutoupas

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

On a board of {J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{A-Hearts} Ivan Stefanovic checked from the big blind. Tibor Nagygyorgy bet 22,500 from the under the gun position and next door neighbor Sotirios Koutoupas made the call with just 29,500 behind. Stefanovic folded.

The river came the {A-Hearts} and Nagygyorgy bet 17,000. Koutoupas shoved all in for 29,500 and Nagygyorgy opened his cards without adding any chips. Koutoupas asked if Nagygyorgy called, and the latter said that was indeed what he was doing. Koutoupas than showed {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

The tournament director was called by the dealer as it was unclear to him what the protocol was for a showdowned hand without the proper chips in place. The ruling was eventually that Nagygyorgy indeed needed to add the extra 12,500 to call, and Koutoupas doubled.
