Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

With just seventeen players remaining, already well in the money, the goal for the day is simple: lose nine more players and reach the final table of six. That's easier said than done though; the field is extremely strong and nobody is going to give it away today.

There's a Master Classics of Poker champion still in (David Boyaciyan), EPT winners from Greece (Sotirios Koutoupas) and Denmark (Frederik Brink Jensen), a WPT champ (Thomas Bichon), Austria's all time money earner (Josef Klinger), the best French female poker player (Gaelle Baumann) and an German extreme high roller in the lead with Fedor Holz. Holz's accomplishment include a WCOOP win for $1.3 million, EPT side event win and a Mega Poker Series win.

Levels will again be 90 minutes long today, starting at 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000 ante. PAfter each level there's a 15 minute break, with a 60-minute dinner break after the third level most likely. lay stops when there's just five players remaining. Play starts at 2 p.m. local time, so check back here in half an hour.

David Boyaciyan Eliminated in 17th Place (€7,550)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
David Boyaciyan
David Boyaciyan

Gaelle Baumann opened for 17,000 from early position and next door neighbor David Boyaciyan shoved all in for 56,000. Action folded around back to Baumann and she smiled and took one more look at her cards.

"Too much" laughed Boyaciyan.

After about a minute of thinking, Baumann added the other 5 big blinds.

Gaelle Baumann: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
David Boyaciyan: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

The flop gave Baumann a flush draw: {7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The {J-Clubs} on the turn made Baumann her flush, but since the board paired Boyaciyan still had some outs.

The river {10-Clubs} wasn't one of them.

"Flush!" Boyaciyan laughed while pointing to the {3-Clubs} he so proudly owned. His flush wasn't good enough though, and he made his exit in 17th place.

Peter Jaksland Eliminated in 16th Place (€7,550)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Peter Jaksland
Peter Jaksland

Sotirios Koutoupas opened under the gun for 24,000 and Andreas Freund made the call two positions down. Peter Jaksland in the cutoff over called and they saw the flop three way: {9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Koutoupas made a 49,000 continuation bet and Freund raised to 121,000 with 260,000 behind. Jaksland now shoved all in for 191,000 total. Koutoupas followed suit and over shoved, decision back on Freund. He tanked for a long time before folding.

Sotirios Koutoupas: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Peter Jaksland: {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

Tje {4-Clubs} on the turn was a blank but the {J-Clubs} on the river gave Koutoupas a full house to beat Jaksland's straight.

"Nice to play with you" said Koutoupas while shaking Jaksland's hand. The remaining 15 players are guaranteed €8,750.

Josef Klinger: {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The flop was good for Koutoupas with {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. The turn ({10-Clubs}) and river ({9-Clubs}) were even better, giving the Greek a full house and almost the chip lead.

Jan-Eric Schwippert opened before the flop and Pascal Hartmann and Hans- Joachim Hein both called.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Hein checked to Schwippert. Schwippert made a bet of 33,000 and Hartmann folded. Hein moved all in for around 125,000 and Schwippert instantly called. With good reason...

Schwippert: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Hein: {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The {9-Spades} on the turn and {6-Clubs} on the river were blanks and Hein hit the rail in 17th place.

The Right to be a Dick

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Gaelle Baumann
Gaelle Baumann

Action folded to Frederik Jensen in the small blind. He had his 5,000 small blind and slid a 100,000 stack forward.

Gaelle Baumann in the big blind instantly said call and turned her hand over, thinking the 105,000 bet covered her. The dealer immediately stopped her of showing and said it wasn't an all in yet. Jensen thought he had seen Baumann's hand though, her {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} was visible for a good full second before she took 'em back.

The tournament director got involved and ruled that the bet of 105,000 stood, and Baumann's call as well. Baumann had 10,000 behind and the dealer burned and spread a flop: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Jensen checked and Baumann shoved her last 10,000 in.

Jensen didn't do anything yet. Karlic thought he was joking and said "You know the clock is running right?", "Yeah but I have a decision" Jensen replied.

Karlic rolled his eyes and after about a minute longer, he called the clock on Jensen.

The tournament director didn't start the countdown yet, but still Jensen wasn't happy with Karlic's decision to call the clock. Jensen said he had a real decision for the second time and said he was doing the math. "You have the right to think, I have the right to call the clock" Karlic said.

Jensen looked at the tournament director. "He has the right to call it" tournament director Christian Scalzi said. "He has the right to be a dick" Jensen replied.

Still no countdown yet. After half a minute more, Jensen open folded his {K-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Baumann mucked her aces.

Frederik Jensen

Action folded around to Andreas Freund in the small blind and he pushed all in to put Frederik Jensen to the test. The Dane made the call immediately.

Frederik Brink Jensen: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Andreas Freund: {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} on the flop changed nothing, but Freund picked up an open ended with the {8-Hearts} on the turn.

The {4-Spades} on the river made Freund his straight, and Jensen got up and wished the players good luck in the tournament.

Jensen takes home €8,750, the remaining 12 players are guaranteed €10,650.

Jan-Eric Schwippert opened the cutoff for 32,000 and action folded to Vladimir Krastev in the big blind.

Krastev three bet to 96,000 and action was back on Schwippert. The Austrian player shoved all in and Krastev instantly called.

Jan-Eric Schwippert: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Vladimir Krastev: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board didn't help Schwippert one bit: {5-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

After some counting by the dealer, it turned out Krastev (494,000) had Schwippert (433,000) covered and so the tournament was down to 11 players.
