Peters Makes a Big Call

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Tobias Peters
Tobias Peters

Action folded to Kees van Brugge on the button and the Dutch grinder raised to 1,300. Small blind Tobias Peters made the call, Rob Strong folded his big blind.

The two had been chatting all day long, even in pots, but this time around it was rather quiet as the dealer fanned {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Peters checked, and called the 1,700 continuation bet that followed.

The {7-Diamonds} hit the turn, and instead of checking, Peters now lead out for 3,700. Van Brugge called in position.

The {6-Spades} completed the board and Peters bet 5,700. Van Brugge tanked for a bit before reaching for chips and raising to 14,500.

Peters leaned back in his chair and pondered what to do for a bit. He scratched his chin, leaned forward again, and eventually tossed in two black 5,000-chips to call.

Van Brugge nodded his head in defeat, showing {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts} not much later. Peters tabled {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and the table was in awe.

"You got balls!" Jer el Salsero commented.

"Nice call" said Van Brugge to his neighbor, which prompted the chatter between the two again.

"I was gambling the right way" commented Peters, and the two continued to discuss the hand.
