Kleins Doubles; Savary Busts to Ferhaoui

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

A short-stacked Martins Kleins was all in and at risk for 11,600 on a heads-up flop of {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} and a Spanish player called with the {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for the open-ended straight draw. Kleins held {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for middle set and the {10-Clubs} turn and {A-Clubs} river were no threat.

Christophe Savary was less fortunate. The Frenchman check-called all in after the {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} river out of the big blind. Sabry Ferhaoui had shoved and pumped his fist when Savary mucked his cards upon being shown {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. Since it was an all in showdown, Savary's cards were revealed in {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for kings and eights.

Zarco Loses Small Pot

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Javier Zarco lost a small pot when his bet of 3,300 on the river of a board {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} was called. Zarco showed {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pure bluff while his opponent claimed the pot with {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for second pair.

Some further table chat emerged between the two of them and Zarco remains the biggest stack at his table right now. Below are further assorted counts.

Third Break on Day 1

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Another break is in order and the players headed out of the poker room for 15 minutes to grab a mint tea, fresh air or the last sunshine of the day. Another five levels are scheduled for today and the registration closes after the end of the dinner break.

According to the screens, there are 257 players out of 368 entries remaining and 54 re-entries were fired thus far.

Franco Doubles Right Away

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Pieyre Maggi got value from Said El Yousfi when betting the three-way flop of {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for 1,825 and picking up a call by El Yousfi only. On the {4-Diamonds} turn the Belgian bet 5,025 and was called before another 3,500 followed on the {4-Clubs} river. El Yousfi was surprised about the small bet size but called anyways to muck when being shown {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

El Yousfi dropped to 12,000 as a result, but has since tripled that.

Aurelie Reard is rising as well and Sonny Franco had barely sat down before doubling for 29,125 with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} against the pocket jacks of Artur Conan on a board of {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Tadini Chopped Up; Noguera and Reard in Charge

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Anas Tadini was all in for a mere 4,000 with {5-}{3-} and was called by two opponents who held {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} respectively. The board came {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Tadini missed out on a miracle. The bigger stack of that split pot belongs to Rene from Spain, and it remains unclear how many times Tadini already busted today.

Among the biggest stacks are Alexandre Reard and Nicolas Noguera, both at around five times the starting stack.

Pons Sent to the Rail

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

The 2016 November Niner Fernando Pons was part of a four-way flop of {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Saber Harrazi was the only opponent that called the bet of the Spaniard. Pons then shoved the {3-Spades} turn for what appeared to be 9,000 and Harrazi called.

Fernando Pons: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Saber Harrazi: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The {10-Clubs} on the river improved Harrazi to a straight and Pons will have to re-enter if he wishes to claim a portion of the juicy prize pool.

Up to 392 Entries

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

"Re-entry, again ... and again ... and ... "Louis Linard joked when sitting behind an almost fresh stack. Imad Derwiche, Will Davies and Bernard Guigon were also among those to fire another bullet again and the number of re-entries has already climbed up all the way to 77 in the penultimate level of the registration period.

As a result, the total number of entries has almost reached 400 and currently stands at 392 with more to come.

Baltazar Scores Big Double Through El Yousfi

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante
Isabel Baltazar
Isabel Baltazar

The comeback of Said El Yousfi has been put on a break and the Frenchman with Swiss passport will have to double once more after suffering a setback for more than half of his stack.

Erwann Pecheux bet the four-way flop of {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} for 2,500 from under the gun and Isabel Baltazar called on the button. Hassan Fares check-raised to 10,000 in the small blind and El Yousfi check-raised all in from the big blind to force out Pecheux. Baltazar called all in and Fares sighed before surrendering to the action.

Isabel Baltazar: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Said El Yousfi: {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The {6-Hearts} turn and {A-Hearts} river changed nothing and Baltazar doubled for 26,025 to leave El Yousfi short.
