After almost 15 full levels of play on Day 2 of the WPT India Main Event, the 241 players that started the day have been whittled down to the final nine players who will return tomorrow for the final table with ₹6,635,000 in prize money up for grabs.

Leading the way is Deepak Singh who eliminated two players on the very last hand of the night to soar into the chip lead. Not far behind him is Adda52 Team Pro Amit Jain who also secured key knockouts with two tables left.

The day got off to a hectic start with a flurry of double-ups and eliminations within the first few minutes. Jain was the beneficiary of one of these, eliminating two players when he held pocket jacks against ace-king and pocket nines.

Early chip leaders Niranjan NJ and Akshay Nasa were still holding strong at the top of the chip counts as the bubble approached.

The players went on break one off the money, but when they returned it didn't take long for Jayjit Ray to get in king-jack against the ace-jack of Romit Advani to bust one short and secure the remaining players ₹89,500 in prize money.

Niranjan NJ and Hidangmayum Somesh were now over one million in chips as the blind level increases allowed for some big pots to be fought for. Day 1c chip leader Anup Palod was an elimination in the money (40th - ₹153,000) along with Indian bracelet-winner Aditya Sushant (33rd - ₹173,000).

By two tables it was Singhal Vidur in the chip lead, but Deepak Singh eliminated Day 1a chip leader Niranjan NJ in a 2.5m chip pot to move into the lead.

He would stay there for most of the rest of the day, until Amit Jain's elimination of Ashish Kaushik saw him take over the chip lead. However, the double elimination to end the day ensured Singh will start the final table as chip leader.

The final table gets underway at 2:30 pm tomorrow and stay tuned to PokerNews.com for coverage until we discover the winner of the second-ever WPT India Main Event!
