Benkirane Ships the Four-Way All-in

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Shortly before the break, a four-way all-in clash happened that saw two players hit the rail. Majid Daoud and Peter Muhlbek were already all in when action was picked up on a {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} flop. Amina Benkirane check-called a bet of 8,000 from Tantaly Rakotoarisoa, building a side pot in the process.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Benkirane shoved all in for 12,100. Rakotoarisoa mulled it over before calling with the words "I am sure you have ace-king of spades"

Amina Benkirane: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}
Majid Daoud: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Peter Muhlbek: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Tantaly Rakotoarisoa: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

While not the ace-king, Benkirane did had the nut flush and all three opponents were drawing dead on the spot. The river was the {K-Clubs} and Benkirane soared towards 120,000, Rakotoarisoa was reduced to fewer than 25 big blinds, and Daoud and Muhlbek hit the rail.

No Dice for Darcourt

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Two-time WPT winner Guillaume Darcourt was among the early breakaway pack of the day, but the Frenchman wasn't able to hold on to it and recently ran out of chips. Holding {A-}{K-}, Darcourt was all in for less than the starting stack and got a customer in Francisco Vargas, who tabled {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for the classic race. No help for Darcourt spelled his demise.

He was joined on the rail by Jean Karam, who first lost heaps with {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} against a set of fives on a king-high board. Left with a mere two big blinds, Karam busted the next hand with {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades} against David Comeron's {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} to end his first attempt at WPTDeepStacks success.

Peters Soars After Sudden Double-Up

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tobias Peters
Tobias Peters

2017 WPTDeepStacks Europe champion Tobias Peters raised it up to 2,400 in late position and Abdullah Alawadhi defended his big blind. So far, so good, nothing to see here, but all that changed on the {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop as Alawadhi simply ripped it for more than 100,000.

Peters, who played 68,900 total, shrugged and called off the gigantic overshove to create a massive pot just like that.

Tobias Peters: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Abdullah Alawadhi: {10-}{7-}

Peters was miles ahead with the better kicker and locked the hand up after the {A-Spades} turn. The {7-Clubs} rubbed salt in Alawadhi's would by giving him an inferior two pair and he paid off Peters.

Nothing But Spades

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Four players checked down a {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} board on all postflop streets up until the river. Third to act, Badr Boutenbat bet 5,000, Said El Yousfi tank-called on the button and the others quickly folded.

Boutenbat showed {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} for the jack-high flush, El Yousfi tapped the table in defeat and mucked.

"Azapl" Takes Down Two

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

"Azapl" couldn't have asked for a better spot when, holding {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, action ensued on a {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop. Two opponents got it in holding {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} respectively, and didn't catch their miracle outs on the {3-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Hearts} river.

Benhalima Stacks Jilali With Aces, Resetschnig Also Busts

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Arthur Resetschnig
Arthur Resetschnig

Like Icarus, Sadate Jilali soared upwards during most of the day, but the Frenchman burned his wings in level 11 to tumble down to Earth. It was a poorly timed four-bet shove from Jilali that did him in, as he ran into Boubekir's Benhalima's {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

With {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Jilali flopped two pair on {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Hearts} to take the lead, but the river was another {7-Diamonds} to improve Benhalima to aces and sevens.

Jilali wasn't the only one to bow out of this table, as Arthur Resetschnig followed him to the rail shortly after. It was another four-bet pot, and this time it was Resetschnig who tank-called with the lesser hand.

Arthur Resetschnig: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
'Cruel': {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{7-Spades} and Resetschnig was out of chips.
