A player only known as "Iva" and Maxime Parys were duking it out in a pot where the preflop action already had bumped it to over 20,000. From the small blind, Parys tank-checked the flop to "Iva", who snap-checked behind.
The turn brought the and Parys checked. This time, "Iva" quickly splashed in 17,300 and Parys called after some thought. On the river, Parys checked a third time. Another fast action by "Iva", who opted for a modestly sized bet of 9,500 this time.
Parys paid it off but couldn't defeat "Iva"'s and mucked his hand while shaking his head.

With the board completed at , David Pecheur checked to Youcef Zalagh, who had 34,500 in front of him. He picked all but four T-5,000 chips up and put them with a loud thump in the middle.
While Pecheur was thinking, Zalagh shifted around in his seat and bounced up and down, constantly readjusting himself. Pecheur tried to figure out whether Zalagh was deliberately overacting or genuinely nervous and eventually settled on a call.
Zalagh showed for a whiffed flush draw, Pecheur showed and won the hand.

Currently, 248 entries have been made on Day 1b, and together with the 161 that showed up for Day 1a the 400-mark has been surpassed. Last year, the biggest non-US WPTDeepStacks field record at the time was set with 433 entries, and it looks like this year's number will be either really close or surpass it.
Late registration will be open up until the start of level 10.

The World Poker Tour would be a fitting name for the travel exploits of one particular participant in the Day 1B field and that is Yuri Ishida. Ishida hails from Osaka in Japan and has accumulated $365,000 in cashes thus far. Her passion for poker matches perfectly with the opportunity to travel the world and play cards for a living.
How does a Japanese woman randomly appear in the north of Africa for the WPTDeepStacks Marrakech Season 2018-2019 Main Event? The answer is rather simple.
