Duman Defies Domination to Double

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Ilhan Duman moved all in for 7,400 from early position. El Mehdi Mbarek was in the next position and three-bet to 15,000. The remaining players all folded.

Ilhan Duman: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}
El Mehdi Mbarek : {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Duman was dominated, but picked up a flush draw on the {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. The {j-Spades} turn completed his flush draw and the {k-Clubs} river gave Mbarek a straight but it wasn't enough as Duman doubled.

However, Mbarek still sits on well over 100,000 and is a contender for overall chip leader at this stage.

Nagornijs Runs into Aces

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Lucien Laigneau opened and Ruslans Nagornijs three-bet. Cheva then four-bet and Laigneau folded.

Nagornijs moved all in for around 20,000 and Cheva called.

Ruslans Nagornijs: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Cheva: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Nagornijs had run into it and received no help on the {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} board. Apparently, Laigneau had folded pocket tens and was annoyed that the board would have given him a straight.

Tondeur Among the Big Stacks

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

On a {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} board, Fouad Toujani checked to Roger Tondeur who bet 15,000. Toujani called.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Toujani checked. Tondeur checked behind tabling {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a flopped two pair, but lost out to the {a-Spades}{7-Clubs} rivered straight of Toujani.

Both players sit well above the average which now stands at 46,000.

El Yousfi Value-Bets His House

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

The full board of {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts} was out between Said El Yousfi and another opponent. El Yousfi was out of position in the small blind, against his opponent who was sitting on the button.

El Yousfi looked at his opponent's stack, and seeing they had around 17,000 behind, opted to bet 3,000 into a pot of around 10,000. His opponent quickly called but El Yousfi showed {4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} prompting his opponent to slam his cards angrily into the muck.

A player at the table tapped the edge of the table in recognition of the hand, with the losing player glaring at him.
