Caron Still Going Strong

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Bruno Caron shot to the top of the leaderboard with a double elimination in the first level of the day, and he's pretty much remained there hovering just under the 100,000 chip stack.

A short while earlier he had breached that mark, with over half the day remaining. In this hand he had bet 1,500 out of the big blind on a {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Clubs} turn, but Yves Terrier raised in position to 4,000.

Caron gave it some thought before folding, but still remains on 95,000 which his good enouhg for over 300 big blinds.

Larousi Doubles Through Kebe

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

On a {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} board Nazoume Larousi bet 3,700 and Jimmy Kebe raised to 11,000 in position. Larousi called.

The river was the {5-Spades}. Larousi checked and Kebe moved all in for 15,000, covering his opponent. Larousi didn't take much time calling.

Kebe showed {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for ace high with Nazoume winning with {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair.

Back in May, Gregoire Ceran-Maillard finished second to Nathan Tetart in the WPTDeepStacks Deauville Main Event. After defending champion Francois Tosques advanced yesterday, can another former WPTDS final tablist join him in Day 2?

Scary Runout Hinders Tavoularis

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Javier Tsunamy opened pre-flop and got calls from Mourad Bouzeghoub and Georgios Tavoularis in the blinds.

The trio checked the {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop and the turn was the {5-Hearts}. Bouzeghoub bet 400 and got two calls.

The river was the {j-Hearts} and the trio checked.

Bouzeghoub showed {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for two pair and Tavoularis showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a flopped set. Tsunamy mucked and Tavoularis took down the pot, looking annoyed perhaps at the fourth heart that came on the river.
