Jaime Staples Headlines WPT500 Final Table on partypoker; Eyes Largest Career Score

From a total field of 2,088, the WPT Online Series Event #24: WPT500 is down to just nine players.

Leading the final nine players is Sweden's Klas Lofberg ahead of Teun Mulder, but all eyes will be on partypoker Ambassador Jaime Staples.

Staples is looking to secure the largest cash of his career were he to finish fourth or better, although everyone at the final table will be looking to win the $160,211 first prize.

The final table resumes on Monday, June 1 at 20:05 (BST)/15:00 (ET).

Day 2 Recap

Day 2 began with just 312 players with each player already guaranteed $1,059. Big names such as Connor Drinan, Sylvain Loosli, Steve O'Dwyer and Christian Rudolph all cashed in the event.

Others who made it into the top 50 included Michael Gathy, Simon Mattsson and Andras Nemeth.

There was plenty of partypoker power on display on Day 2 of the WPT500, with five players cashing in addition to Jaime Staples' final table finish. The best of these was Matthew Staples who no doubt will spend this evening cheering on his brother at the final table.
