Burn!

Scott Mitchell bets 200,000 and gets his opponent to fold. He seems about to show his hand. Phil Gordon says, "The book says don't show it."

Mitchell: "I have your book, but I've never actually read it."

The crowd howls.

"I'm not surprised," Gordon says sarcastically.

Mitchell shows his aces anyway.

The Mitchell and Esposito Tango

Scott Mitchell and Lou Esposito get it in preflop.

Esposito has {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Scott Mitchell has {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

Flop Q-6-5-9-5. Mitchell doubles up to around 195,000.

Three hands later, both players get it all in again. Esposito has A-A and Mitchell has 8-8. Board is {Q-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}. River is {5-Clubs} and Mitchell has 400,000.

All we need is a rose between the teeth.

Rodney Corr is Cored

Clint Schafer raises to 25,000 UTG. David MacLeroy raises to 70,000 from the wonderful hijack seat. Rodney Corr calls all in for 23,000 in the small blind. Schafer folds, MacLeroy takes some back and has {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Rodney has {10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The board is {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Corr is out in 16th.

Break it Down

Another break, another color-up. All of the purple 500 chips (despite the TD's announcements, they are clearly not pink - they match the purple felt) are going away, as well as most of the orange 1000s. Some oranges will stay around for antes and blinds, but stacks will consist of mostly grey 5000s and yellow 10,000s, making counting a snap. Blinds will be 4000/8000 with a 1000 ante.
